Notes: Hybrid known as BlackMask is the offspring of Jubilee and is currently owned by Amanda Horn.
While BlackMask was born into the circuit and was an offspring of Jubilee, he was not kept there long. Jason was his original owner, however when he fell into debt with local loan sharks he sold BlackMask at just six months old. He sold him off the fighting grounds for a higher price and without any traceable paperwork, and Amanda bought him from Jason without realizing who the man was and what he did. She paid a large amount for him and while BlackMask was torn from his mother far too soon, he has grown up under a loving and attentive owner and while he has some issues, BlackMask is overall a very happy and stable hybrid. He is well known in the show ring, both riding and ground showing and he has won several competitions. He is also well known in the cross-county setting, where he excels in the sport and under Amanda’s guidance has been titled state champion 4 times over his career. He has never sired a kit because while he is healthy and sound, Amanda doesn’t agree with breeding an animal with no information on its lineage. His coat is stunning, a bright silver with black saddling and mask and while he looks similar to the grulla coloring, he is not related to Vulture or any of his offspring.
He is a friendly beast with a gentle disposition despite his size, and he is well known for his silly behavior and antics, especially when he wants Amanda’s attention. His sound mind and gentle nature have made him a key piece in Amanda’s life not only personally, but also in her work in rescuing abused, abandoned, and death row hybrids. Most come from the slaughter line or fighting circuit, and BlackMask has proven to be a defining factor in the rescued animals rehabaitlion. Amanda doesn’t pretend to be a saint who has special pull over these animals, instead she realizes what these broken beasts need is one of their own to show them that now, the world wouldn’t be so bad, and this has proven priceless in her work of saving the neglected and damaged.
BlackMask is a gentle teacher and loving guide for the abused and with his gentle demeanor and happy nature, the animals placed under his watch have recovered well and were able to learn how to be a functional hybrid that not only accepts humans but is well mannered and behaved. BlackMask is heavily bonded to Amanda and she to him, thus, the pair have formed an extremely strong bond.
