The HEELS that Started it All...
As a frustrated artist, I've always wanted to have a job that's related to making art and so I started designing and handpainting Chucks and other canvas shoes when I was in College (around 2007) as a hobby and a small business on the side. Before, I was dreaming of putting up this huge business that would offer the same product/service -- but then come 2011, online handpainted shoe businesses have been popping out like mushrooms.
I thought I'd have to leave the business idea completely but then I couldn't -- or I wouldn't want to. And so I thought of sticking with the same service, but changing it a bit so I won't have to compete with all the rest of the i-handpaint-on-shoes-too businesses online.. and finally I thought of HEELS.
The first pair of heels I customized was my old pair (really worn out during my Senior year in college) since I was still testing if the idea would work. Well, it does work -- but not as perfectly as I wanted it to be. It's because leather shoes aren't as nice to paint on as compared to canvas. But the ALPHA PAIR is still the best pair for me. It was a risk, a challenge, and a successful attempt as well.
Here are some pictures of the very first pair of TMP Custom Handpainted Heels:
Although the Alpha Pair was an old pair of heels up-cycled, expect all our TMP Heels to be 100% new, comfortable and durable since they're customized and Marikina-made.
