Freshers Fair
Hello, and a big thank you to everyne who came and saw us at the freshers fair today, we had a great time meeting everybody.
Our first meeting is on the 30th of September, meet out side the front of the SU at 6.00 p.m. This meeting is open for everybody even if your not a member. Its just an introduction where we explain what we have planned for the term and get to meet everybody.
A couple of you may have noticed our Give it a Go session which is a Book Crawl. We will take you round to a few of the different book shops in Cardiff. You can also sign up for a library card as well if you want to (you need ID for this but the student ID is fine). I’ll make a post reminding people about this closer to the time (11.00 a.m. 3rd of October). The Book Crawl is ticketed at £1 (the money goes to Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity).
You can buy memberships and tickets for the book crawl at; http://www.cardiffstudents.com/activities/society/bookclub/
if you have any questions you can ask us over tumblr or our email address is; [email protected]
Do you have to buy a ton of books and read really obscure stuff for this club? I mostly read young adult or dystopian stuff, and I dont have a lot of cash
No all the books we have planned for this term are short stories and are free online. We will send out the sources for them and when we will be discussing later this week. There may be some next term but we will try to make sure everything we discuss is free if possible or at the least very cheap. Some stories are going to be obscure in that people probably won’t have encountered them before, but others are quite well known.
