A lams proposal
Alex had taking a poetry class this semester. John was on their couch, which doubled as his and Alex’s bed, watching Alex write his poem. The artist loved his boyfriend. He smiled slightly, watching Alex write. John had his sketchbook on his lap with multiple small drawings of Alex and a few of Hercules and Gilbert, their two roommates. Alex nodded and leaned back on the couch. He held up the notebook, reading over it once more.
“Can I read it to you?” Alex asked, turning toward John.
John smiled and nodded, “Of course, love.” He said, looking at Alex.
Alex stood up and started reciting the poem. John watched his love read the poem. He smiled and put his head in his hands. Moments like this made John fall farther in love with the author. The way Alex read through his work, the way he walked around while reading the piece. John absolutely adored it all. He constantly would lose his bearings when he watched Alex write or doing anything that he’s passionate about. John’s father had always told him that being in love meant constantly getting butterflies and your heart racing… But anytime he was with Alex, John would feel none of that. He had felt an unbroken connection between him and his boyfriend. What John didn’t know was that Alex’s poem was about this very connection.
The last line of the poem caught John’s attention the most, “Will you be forever my connection?” Alex said softly, finishing the poem.
John perked up slightly and smiled, “Alex, that was so good!” He said warmly.
Alex’s face lit up and he grabbed John’s hand, “I’m so glad you like it!”
“It was so nice.” John said warmly and stood up, wrapping the other man in a tight hug. Alex laughed softly, causing John to absolutely melt. His laugh. Oh god, his laugh. Alex took John’s hand and pulled a little ring out of his pocket. He knelt down to one knee and held up the ring with a sweet smile. John covered his mouth and felt his eyes start welling up with tears.
“John Laurens,” Alex said softly, “Will you be my forever connection?”
John slip down and nodded, “Yes! Yes of course!”
“Yes!” Alex said and tackled John to the ground, dropping the ring in the process.
