It was hard to keep up with the kiss, her smile preventing much from progressing. No matter how hard she struggled to focus on the kiss and stop smiling long enough to thank him properly, it was impossible. Eventually she gave up and tilted her head back, showcasing her happiness through the grin on her lips. "Liked them.. ? No, I loved them. I will have a reason to smile every day now, because whenever I look at them, I will think of you.."

If he weren't as skilled at keeping himself composed as he was, he probably wouldn't have been able to hide the way her words made him melt - like ice cream in the summer, all sweet and sticky and useless.

And maybe he wasn't as skilled as he thought, because it was impossible to hear her say such things and not pull her close, lips pressing against her cheek, her neck.

It was also impossible to stop planning all the ways that he could make her smile, because damn, that smile was the best thing he could think of.
