About Kook's insecurities, it is also goes way back during debut. He had red hair back then, but k-army said he didn't look good and this is why we had to wait for other than brown on his hair for so long. I guess hearing the critics the others got made him doubt about himself.

Yes, you’re right. I think (maybe because of his young age and lack of experience back then) Jungkook was still very easily influenced and cared a lot about what other people think of him. (Basically like every teenager is prone to do lol). I also remember how he got a lot of flack for the type of pants or shoes he used to wear, to the point where he actually stopped wearing them. That was awful. I hate that people feel entitled to the point that they think it’s ok to mandate an idol’s appearance, that’s one of the worst aspects of kpop imo. 

Luckily it seems as if his confidence is growing and that he cares less and less about other people’s opinions and does whatever he wants. Sadly the whole industry kinda fuctions on this ‘everything for the fans’ mentality but I really hope that all of BTS but especially Jungkook don’t let that influence their decisions (at least not too much).
