Hi! I was wondering, could you do a jackunzel, kiki's delivery service AU please? :)
yoooo idk if I see Jack as a Tombo, (although PERFECT for a hiccunzel au amiright) but how about witch!Rapunzel as Kiki who meets Jack?
Rapunzel shouldn’t be here. She really shouldn’t.
Flying over the cozy yet bustling city, it had looked like the perfect fit. But that was before the broom-running-into-several-cars-and-almost-running-four-people-over incident. And now here she was, dashing through the crowded streets of a foreign town running from a very angry police officer just a few feet behind her.
“Hey, you!” His voice rang out, rough and stern. “You can’t just run out in the middle of the street like that! You almost caused a big accident!”
Rapunzel stopped dead in her tracks and shot Pascal a look of “now look what you’ve done”. It had been her chameleon’s idea to stop here in the first place and now his emerald skin shifted black to match her dress as he blended in shamefully.
“I—I’m sorry, I didn’t realize I had caused so much trouble…” Her hands gripped the smooth wood of the broom tightly. The anger in the officer’s voice caused a huge knot to form in her chest.
The cop sighed and took a small notebook and pencil from his jacket. “Name and address?”
“Thief! Help, thief!” A distant, panicked voice called in the distance and captured the officer’s attention.
He gave Rapunzel a hard glare. “Stay here.” He ordered, before dashing around the corner to attend to the latest crime. Rapunzel wondered if crime was a common thing that happened in this city, and clutched her broom tighter at the thought.
Her eyes darted up and down the road. He probably wouldn’t be back anytime soon… Carefully, Rapunzel tiptoed away from where she had planted her feet. Once she was sure she was safe, she released all her nerves in a single breath. Pascal gurgled with laughter and squinted his eyes mischievously.
“You’re welcome, by the way.” Rapunzel spun around. The unfamiliar voice belonged to a white-haired boy leaning up against the brick wall of a small dress shop. He smiled devilishly and gave a small wave. Rapunzel raised a confused brow. The boy rolled his eyes playfully, then lifting his hands in a mockingly helpless fashion, cried “help! Thief!” In a high-pitched voice, promptly dropping the act and grinning wryly back at her.
The witch blinked dumbly. “That was you?”
He shrugged.
She knit her eyebrows in confusion. Why was this stranger helping her? He didn’t even know her. “Well…thank you.” She attempted to be grateful yet firm. She didn’t want to come seem like some weak innocent girl who needed his help.
He nodded to her broom. “Are you really a witch?”
After eying him carefully, Rapunzel lifted her chin haughtily. “As a matter of fact, I am.”
“And you can really, like, fly and stuff?”
She rolled her eyes, growing impatient with simple questions. “Did you not see my ‘big’ landing?”
The boy snorted. “Okay, but can you actually fly?”
Rapunzel huffed. Just who did this guy think he was? “Well I’d like to see you try!” She placed her hands firmly on her hips.
He raised his brows challengingly. “Alright, gimme your broom.”
Instinctually she pulled the broom in towards herself when he outstretched his arm. “What? I’ve just met you, are you crazy?”
He squinted his eyes and pulled another sly grin, making her stomach turn over. “Scared I’ll be better than you.”
She kept his eyes trained on him for a split second too long and found herself noticing how startling blue his eyes were. Then she came back to reality and scoffed. “You wouldn’t even be able to get off the ground. Only a witch can use a broom?” She said the last part like it was a commonly known fact, though to be honest she had no idea what other people knew about witches. She lived in a town completely inhabited by witch families, so what mortals thought about her kind was anybody’s guess.
He opened his mouth to say what was no doubt something smart-alecky, when his line of vison focused on something behind her. Rapunzel looked curiously over her shoulder to find the same policeman from before, craning his neck towards them in recognition. When she faced the boy again his eyes looked about twice as wide, yet he maintained his mischievous smirk.
He grabbed her wrist with sudden urgency. “Run.”
Grasping his hand, the two darted around the corner of the dress shop down a long and narrow alleyway. Bumbling footsteps pounded behind them and Rapunzel felt her heart rate quicken. He pulled the witch sharply into a gap between two buildings. Rapunzel panted, noting the less-than-a-half-inch of space between them. Despite her indifference, she felt a pink blush creep onto her cheeks and determinedly stared at the ground. Suddenly a blur of navy blue whooshed past them, and the white-haired boy let out a relieved sigh.
“Looks like we lost him,” he murmured, peeking out from the gap.
“Thank goodness.” she breathed distantly. Was this a normal thing in this place? Hiding from easily angered law enforcements with random boys you met on the street?
“So…” the boy poked curiously at the thick straw bristles on Rapunzel’s broom. “Witch, huh?”
Rapunzel laughed breathily, gaining her wits as the adrenaline of the situation left her. “Clever, aren’t you? Haven’t we already been through this?”
Rapunzel was surprised at the bashfulness in his demeanor as he laughed. He brought his eyes back up to meet hers. “I’m Jack,” he said, rubbing the back of neck.
“Rapunzel.”
He shot her a doubtful look. “Not so sure I’ll be able to pronounce that one.” He shrugged it off and scooted out of the teensy crevice that kept them practically pressed together. “See ya around, Miss Witch.”
“Rapunzel.” She corrected.
He ignored her, to Rapunzel’s brief annoyance. “Look me up sometime, Miss Witch, if you ever need anything.”
She nodded warily. “Thanks…Jack…”
And with that, the attractive white-haired boy disappeared behind the corner of a building. Rapunzel blew a stray strand of hair from her face. This town would take some getting used to, that was for sure.
