Hey ! While reading ID:INVADED #BRAKE-BROKEN, I noticed a huge reference to Jorge Joestar, when Kars said that when you feel like dying, it can damage the Soul beyond repair.

Which was almost how Narihisago described the process of dying in ID wells to Hondomachi.

And that was also shown after Hondomachi's first death, with that image of Hijiriido being shattered like glass, or how she was subconsciousely terrified to dive again.

Thinking about it, then it's clear that Narihisago and Fukuda got damaged beyond repair, because repeated trauma / self inflicted wounds made them feel like dying.

More literally, their subconscious (and detective persona) did die. Many times. (Narihisago's well becoming a totally empty and dead desert, Fukuda's well being into pieces.)
