The Sugar Lesson- Part 1 ❄️Chronic higher sugar intake can reduce the body's ability to handle carbs. •This reduces insulin sensitivity •This increases insulin response to meals •Leads to excess fat gain due to high insulin levels (especially around the "love handle" & upper back area) •The eventual consequence is borderline or full blown diabetes. ⬆️High amounts of sugar in the blood can cause the binding of sugar molecules to blood proteins, this is called glycation. Glycation has been linked to: premature aging, cancer, altered vision, cataracts & retinopathy, Alzheimer's, vascular disease, erectile dysfunction, kidney disease & joint pain & arthritis and more. 🚫Please try to avoid adding sugar during your food preparations! Also, be aware of food labels as there are many synonyms for sugar. These include: sucrose, fructose, glucose, maltose, dextrose, maltodextrin, hydrolyzed starch, invert sugar, corn syrup, honey, cane sugar, sugar beets, high fructose corn sweetener, maple sugar, molasses & evaporated cane juice & more. These day food manufacturers add sugar to many foods you would never expect (frozen fruit, bread, dressings, sauces & more). It is super important to read every label of the food you pick up in the grocery store! Make sure you understand what you're buying. If you don't know what something is, look it up. If you can't pronounce it, put it back on the shelf! . . . #thesimplyradiantproject #specialistinfitnessnutrition #cutthesugar #readnutritionlabels #educateyourself #becomemoreaware
