★ Light passes through the round window on the far wall, a perfect luminous circle carved into the dimness of the office. Paperwork lay scattered across the desk in organized chaos. Half the pile consists of revised reports, pages marked with crossed-out lines and ticks. Some sheets are slightly bent at the corners from being handled. And the other half is for scheduling, upcoming classes, and missions.

Today, Satoru hasn’t had much time for himself. He rarely does, but he likes to do what he wants anyway. But he doesn’t allow himself this after he receives all the recent reports. Quick reading and finding errors and solutions are the first priority. Although Satoru would definitely go for something sweet right now. It’s almost as if his brain fuel is running out.

After a small bathroom break, he returns to his office to spot a carton of strawberry milk on his desk. It’s almost as if that mental fatigue suddenly evaporates as his face beams with joy. But wait—

He picks up the carton and looks it over briefly. A light smile tugs on the edges of his lips. There’s no other than one certain kitty cat that could have brought him this sweet elixir. There’s an urge to drop his task and find her. But the better option is to finish his work first, and then he’ll have all the time to thank her in his own little ways.
