In that ‘silver fox’ scene, Grissom’s face is very serious (unlike Sara’s). Do you think he’s actually jealous or just being playful? As there’s no way this Grissom is anywhere near as insecure as Hank-era Grissom. Also I love them married and how cute they are together and their usual banter is sooo much more adorable in the current ‘we are so married’ context <3
hi, anon!
what i read from that scene is that sara is kind of teasing him with her description of the suspect, trying to see if she can get a rise out him, and his response essentially amounts to "hey! not cool! don't even joke about that," hence why his affect seems serious.
however, while of course he doesn't like hearing his wife express attraction (or even what could possibly be construed as attraction) to other men, his actual level of upset is very low, a) because he knows she's just messing with him, and, b) because he's finally to a place where he is secure in their bond.
he's definitely not having an existential crisis about it in the same way he did her attraction to hank back in the day, as, at this point, he knows very well that she's not actually interested in anyone but him.
in the end, this exchange basically amounts to "hey, would you be jealous if i expressed attraction to someone else?" "you know i would, dear" "good to know."
ultimately, it's all flirtatious. just banter, like you say.
and, yeah, i'm right there with you, loving all the cute, playful "we are so married" exchanges between them so far. it's obvious that these are things they've always been thinking, but now they're at liberty to say them aloud, so there's just this constant stream of adoration between them. it's delightful.
thanks for the question! please feel welcome to send another any time.
