tagg;; open.
Since she had moved to Vancouver, Cam really hadn't had the time to go out yet. She had been busy with unpacking and getting her house set up properly. It wasn't as if she hadn't wanted to go out of the house, but the woman had priorities. Coming home to a messy place full of boxes wasn't her idea of a great way to say "welcome back, Cam!" Although, now that things had been set up a bit more, she decided that she was going to check out some of Vancouver's nightlife.
After dolling herself up, Cam made her way to a bar she had read about in hopes of meeting someone who she could spend some time talking to--who knows, maybe even someone she could go home with? Either was fine. Part of her was starved for human interaction, but there was also a part of her that was a little nervous. Meeting new people, in thought, was far more stressful than actually meeting people in action.
When she arrived at the bar, Cam ordered a whiskey on the rocks. She flashed the bartender a smile when he sat her drink down in front of her and instructed him to open a tab for her for the night. After that whole thing was taken care of, the woman took a sip from her glass and swirled back and forth on the bar stool, scanning the area for anyone she may be able to approach. Then again, maybe it was far more fun to wait for someone to approach her, instead.
Coffee Run (Melissa + Any)
Melissa had been running late to her first class, so she'd had to suffer the morning without coffee. Luckily the students here were amazing, so she'd been able to make it through the morning without killing anyone. However, now, it was coffee time. She gathered all her papers up and headed to her office on the campus, locking it all up before heading to Starbucks. She had enough time to actually go off campus for lunch, and she almost always did, not wanting to discuss music theory with students while she ate.
She found the closest Starbucks and waited in line, her fingers tapping against her jeans in a rhythm only she could hear. The line inched along slowly and Melissa glanced around, smiling at strangers. Her smile was always ready, and she was never afraid to meet new people. When her eye caught someone the third time, she lifted her hand in a friendly wave before stepping over to the cooler and picking out her lunch.
The tour is wiping me out
But it is so bloody fantastic! I should be home in a couple days! What have i been missing, Vancouver?
Wandering (Suranne + Any)
Suranne drew a deep breath and realized she was going stir crazy. She needed to get out of the flat and explore a little beyond the neighborhood, so she gathered her purse, slipped on comfortable shoes, and headed downstairs. She hailed a cab and headed back down to where most of the cherry blossoms were found blooming.
Ducking into a coffee shop, she ordered herself an iced tea before heading back out and wandering through the beauty of the blossoming trees. She noticed someone standing on the street corner and approached slowly, smiling gently.
"Beautiful, aren't they?" she asked softly, looking up at the flowers.
Starter Prompt for the week of March 30, 2014:
"No we do not have Wi-Fi, talk to each other!"
The handwritten sign on the counter of the coffee shop is hard to miss, and the instructions clear. you're not going to be able to surf your favorite websites here, instead, you'll hopefully find a friendly face and strike up a new conversation.
Hello Rain City!
I see you're living up to your name today! This would be the perfect day to stay in and unpack, but I feel like exploring instead! Any ideas where I should start?
