Hello! Yes, will absolutely be hosting group events for members to take part in such as sitewide verses and writing challenges.

We’ll also be taking member suggestions upon opening, so feel free to send any ideas you may have our way!

are familiars of the same affinity able to understand each other when they are in their familiar form? or is it like all familiars can understand each other when in familiar form

Familiars cannot understand one another in familiar form beyond guessing at body language or responding to basic sounds of distress/etc.

is necromancy a thing? and aside from the air familiars, how do your general student encounters spirits/ghosts/death? can they /see/ them as it happens in hp or is more like just a sensation, etc.?

Nope! All possessed powers are listed on the affinity pages. Regarding spirits and ghosts, they are not visible to muses (unless stated explicitly in a prompt given by the admod team, though this has not occurred yet we won’t eliminate the possibility entirely). Thus, in terms of your muse’s history and present rping, they would maybe realize something was Off or witness poltergeist-y actions when it is denoted (such as in danger prompts) or have a general sensation of strangeness around them. There are also some low scale ghost features you can incorporate on the locations page, such as the ghostly sounds in the ballroom and belltower attic.

Does the school have any form of hospital wing (definitely imagining Hogwarts here, I admit)? Or does injured students go to water witches for healing?

there is a hospital wing in the school that has trained nurses and staff (similar to hogwarts). admittedly though, there are quite a lot of water witches and familiars working there! ;>

Are there any disciplinary programs/processes, if so what are they and how do they work?

Yes absolutely! This varies depending upon the age of the student and severity of what they’ve done. Younger students are often punished by being given tasks around the school - cleaning, helping in the dining halls - or given guided meditation sessions for those with emotional instabilities that have caused their misdeeds. Older students may be given tasks to work with teachers who are completing research and need someone for boring paperworks or sorting and so forth, or be required to complete manual labor around the grounds. After all, if they’re too busy and exhausted to get into trouble, it solves the problem! In particularly drastic situations, the Supreme will temporarily dampen or disable a student’s magic entirely: this is extremely complicated magic that can’t really be replicated outside of the Supreme, however, so keep that in mind.

Is there a night school option?

Yes and no. The school functions a lot like a university, with many sections of classes offered in the afternoons. However, they generally wrap up by around 8pm, particularly those that require outside visibility, such as training classes for familiars.
