Guidance

Jieun had always saw herself as a patient person. Whether it was with people or with her own projects, she knew there was no point in getting frustrated just because things weren’t working at this moment. If she just endured for a little longer, everything will work out. This is why she was successful at what she does.
But at this current moment, she found herself at the end of her wits. These kind of roadblocks were expected, it was a pretty ambitious project but this felt less like a roadblock and just ... a steel wall. No, even that analogy didn’t seem right. It felt more like an impossible mountain, which was to expected. She had to keep reminding herself of that, just to extend her patience a little more.
Ever since she had first started tinkering, started learning the ins and outs of machines, this was something she’d always wanted to try. Cybernetics. It was more in the realm of science fiction, but she was a witch and this was the sort of ‘fiction’ she felt could be made reality. To be honest, it probably would have stayed in the realm of fiction if it weren’t for Hyeri. While Jieun had no problem making the parts, that was about all she could do. In a school full of witches and familiars, the last thing she was expecting was to meet a witch that was tech savvy enough to help her with the other half of her projects. She didn’t want to lean on her too much, so she asked for guidance, learned a bit about coding
And that, she thinks, is where things go awry. It had to be. She could perfectly replicate circuits and chips (a process alone which involved a lot more burns and far too many melted objects than she thought) and how to connect them altogether. Sure, while her magic abilities helped creating these parts, there wasn’t any real magic involved in what she was trying to do. Not yet, anyways. Baby steps. First she needed to understand programming.
She had her homemade circuit board in front of her, hooked up to some small colored light bulbs and her laptop all laid out in front of her. According to the program she had made, she was trying to make the lights turn on in a certain pattern and change. Except all the wrong ones were lighting up and all at the wrong intervals, if they even did at all. To be honest, she felt like she was on the verge of tears.
Being stuck in the school’s basement for 5 hours wasn’t helping her right now. No doubt some fresh air would help clear her head a little. She shut her laptop and shoved everything in her bag, heaving it onto her shoulders as she left the basement. She hated dropping by without warning like this, so as her feet took her to the carriage house, in front of Hyeri’s door, she hoped the other girl was there.
She knocked on the door, rocking back and forth on her heels as she waited for the door to open. Once she heard the creaking of the hinges, her bottom lip pushed out in a pronounced pout as the door opened.
“I need help”
