waking them up after a nightmare ;

lily saw GREEN. she saw nothing but green. it was the brightest green she had ever seen. it was glowing and BRILLIANT and horrible all at once. it was the most beautiful thing she had ever seen, but at the same time it was horrific and malevolent and MONSTROUS. and all at once it was t e a r i n g her apart. all she felt was pain. whose pain she couldn’t possibly be sure, but it was killing her. where it started and where it ended she didn’t know, all she knew was she had to STOP it. she had to stop it, she had to save him, to save     

lily awoke with a with a deafening scream. and she still saw it, the green that haunted her dreams. moments passed until the green turned to yellow to white, and then it was gone. it wasn’t until THEN that she realised arms were h o l d i n g her up, lifted her away from her wrinkled sheets. lily’s lashes finally fluttered open, meeting a pair of CONCERNED eyes. it still felt real. she could still feel it, like her skin was on fire.

her breath quickened and she shook her HEAD, trying to find her bearings. but all she could do was open her mouth to speak; ‘ i’m sorry ‘ leaving her lips over and over again.

taking care of them while ill ;

lily was an absolute wreck when she was sickly. she was grumpy and miserable and a complete MESS. she was barely capable of functioning, and early on anyone that knew her realised lily was to be avoided at all costs when she was ill. it only came about once a year, but when it did, she was a bloody HURRICANE. 

the other gryffindor girls in the dorm couldn’t exactly avoid her, though. MIRANDA was typically the only one that could manage to stay ( around ) her for more than five minutes. and so when lily opened her eyes at the sound of the door, and saw her dormmate carrying a bowl of SOUP and the day’s assignments, lily mustered up her brightest smile.

‘ you’re a saint, miranda campbell. ‘ lily muttered as she slurped down the soup and listened to the other girl retell the events of the day.
