There was a disturbance. Not just in her sleep, but in the world around them. Suddenly, Mona was on her feet, her blanket tossed aside, and she was almost out the door before her hazel eyes were open. The door was left wide open behind her, and the teen didn’t seem to care that she was walking down the sidewalk in a pair of short cotton shorts and the tank top she’d been asleep in.
No, there was no real way for her to explain it, but she’d felt him. He was here.
For a second, she thought she heard Aiken’s voice, but her mind was far gone from this world. Following the pulse she could feel beneath her feet, she started to pick up the pace despite her frozen toes.
“Hey, hey, hey, it’s okay--” Lyndon was immediately pulling Allie into his long arms, hugging her close and glancing around. The snow seemed higher all around them than it had, and he immediately turned to take in the state of things, “Are you okay?” He asked quietly, kissing Allie’s forehead absently.
‘Sibyl’ sat up slowly, shaking her head, before glancing up to meet the gaze of her friend. With furrowed brows, she closed her blue eye and bit the inside of her cheek until it bled. The orange eye glowed for a few seconds as she took in the information it could give her.
Maddox, Alcmene, Salix, Allie, Lyndon... Herself. They had all gone back in time. She had half a mind to say something, but the second her eye hit Maddox, she was on her knees and scrambling over to him.
In her worry, the glamour dropped, showing her orange eye on the left side instead of the right. She didn’t notice, though, brushing her hair over her shoulder before slowly reaching to touch his.
There was something wrong.
Arthur could feel it humming in the atmosphere, and, much as it was probably embarrassing, he could smell it.
Having been back in the cemetery, as he was from time to time, it wasn’t a stretch that he’d feel it. The veil was thinner here, to say the least.
As he started jogging down the path to leave, he did his best to figure where he needed to go.
