Hello friends, I am so excited to share some more Codywan with you all for @codywanweek! This is from all three of today’s prompts: post-war (no order 66), the sun, and hurt/comfort.

All in the eyes, as everything with Cody always was; just the deepening of a crow’s foot, then nothing. Cody, stoic to the last, and who probably did love Obi-Wan as much as Obi-Wan loved him right up until the blind spot in his head swallowed him whole.

Face to the sun

People usually describe Cody’s Markings, his simple angled bars in solid 212th gold, as a sunburst.

But that's not quite right; the true inspiration is a sunflower. Growing up on rainy Kamino, he was fascinated by the idea of a plant so drawn to the sun’s light and warmth that it would turn to track its path.

It started with a flash of auburn hair, like a break in the clouds. Then he met the General, his General; all warm smiles, sharp wit, bright laugh, gentle care.

He chose his Markings.

Cody is a sunflower, and Obi-wan is his sun.
