Here’s all the little sketchbook diary comics I drew over the weekend at CXC!
On Saturday I received one of the biggest surprises of my life in the form of being given the first ever Emerging Artist award at CXC. It came with a gorgeous handmade glass word balloon and a cash prize of $7,000, which Jeff Smith explained was intended to help me continue making comics. I plan to write more about my experience at the first CXC festival on the whole, but wanted to stop and acknowledge that moment and thank everyone who was involved in it coming together. Something I thought was particularly special was that it was given to me on the floor of the show, as being in a space where I'm selling comics is one of my favorite places to be.
