 Ah, right, this wasn’t his place he was waking up to. An arcade of many activities and people imprisoned within. Not exactly how he wanted his travels to end up to. Luke had no idea as to approaching anything in this place, as curious as it may be, it was hopefully just a prank.

A really bad prank, but a prank nonetheless. It didn’t seem to be a joking matter with many people here, especially with that food dilemma. Goodness knows that cups of tea were tainted with the ‘thing’ the mastermind put in. Luke wasn’t willing to test that theory.

Rules, the rules in this place were crazed, even with how they would have to escape. Luke was firmly planted into thinking that the gamemaster did not want murder. He still couldn’t shake feeling off.

“What did they mean by Cure? What did they want?” Luke inquired, looking calmly at the stranger. “You don’t suppose they mean...”

X since ryouko is a ghoul, she never really got to taste ice cream, but when she runs across a shop that sells any, she goes in to look at the types of desert. Ever since she was younger it reminded her of the pastel colors she wears everyday and the smiles of other children as she saw them eating it. When Ryouko started making Hinami practice in faking eating human food, she started with letting her eat ice cream since it was easy to swallow fast and she thought the girl as well would like to try food that symbolizes happiness and comes in vibrant colors as a start.

For nearly two years she’s held prisoner. Tortured and questioned. Deprived of sleep. Force fed until she throws up. Beaten and humiliated. Thank god, Eric put her through hell when she was a new recruit. Thank all fuck that leadership training had made hell look like a spa. Chicago may have lived in a bubble of ignorance and privilege compared to the other cities, but it’s militia force was better trained, better fed, better armed.

It feels like another life slowly seeping back into her fingertips when she’s released. When she steps into the compound again for the first time. The shouts and cries and hollering scares her as the other released prisoners walk in with her. As she fights not to go into a frozen panic of shock, she realizes the noises have been made in joy. She hasn’t witnessed joy in so long…any loud noise carries an automatic trigger.

But seeing him is worse. A walking corpse. A shadow of his former self, one foot in the grave and a dozen dark rings lining his eyes. Just feeling his eyes on her is like a punch to the gut, her insides feeling sick and twisted over the way they left things before the attacks. The way he’d been cold and silent. So lost in himself. The way he had come to her room one night when the weight of everything nearly broke him...and somehow even that hadn’t fixed things between them.

Could any of that really matter now? Is there really a chasm between them still? Is he the dead man walking that he appears? Or maybe just a ghost come out of the shadows to haunt her.
