So yeah the sonic fixation is in full swing XD which means I of course want to draw these silly little guys. Currently I am slowing reading all of IDW (It's luckily available at my library), watching sonic x on and off and playing sonic adventure 1. I have just beat chaos 6 in sonic's story but woah, it's such a cool but overwhelming game for me! It's good, I'm just bad at video games XD and, haven't gone much into the other characters stories yet, I do also own adventure 2 on steam but I remembered that crashing on the first level a few years ago so I've put off testing it on my laptop until I at least finish sonic's story in adventure 1.
I've also gotten into other sonic media in the past but I've already rambled too much about all that and will now give context to my silly drawings :P
so the two oldest pages are mostly me trying to re-draw official art, adventure era stuff to be exact, as I think it looks pretty cool and seems like a good reference point for drawing these characters (unless you want to do classic style or a more niche "canon" style). Still feel like I'm far from getting a handle on their proportions lol. I still had fun trying to draw expressions thou (hence the sad sonic XD) and outfits for Rouge and Amy, do want to draw fun outfits on other characters too but felt like starting with Rouge and Amy since they're both fashionable characters.
speaking of Amy, I did also change up her design a bit, mostly just gave her a bit of a different hair do and back quills (kinda weird sega just got rid of them???) since I think it suits her and so fair enjoy drawing her this way ^u^.
p.s I love Rouge's heroes outfit, not sure what the overall fandom take is on it but I think it's really cute, love the pink eyeshadow and corset detail so much!
A bit ago I decided to do some Babylon Rogues fanart in my travel sketchbook after watching LP's of sonic riders and zero gravity because I really like these birds XD. In fairness that wasn't my first exposure to them (I think that was sonic shorts when I was around 8-10 lol, I only vaguely remember one having Jet though and idk if I'll ever re-watch them) and I did find them interesting in the IDW comics (currently up to the 4th collection of IDW sonic comics, I know I'm pretty behind) but I think watching the cut scenes & gameplay of their debut game and sequel made really appreciate who these birds are and what their deal is so now I really like this trio!
I did draw them with bigger beaks since they seem to have bigger beaks in the riders 2D art and high quality cut scenes in the riders games and I personally prefer that. :3
I do plan on playing riders and zero gravity in future once I get copies (not free riders thou, even if I had an Xbox 360 I have no interest in the kinect) of course and I also plan on drawing them and many sonic characters in the future but sadly, that'll have to wait. This year I haven't been allowing physical injuries to heal fully and while it will be hard to take a break from art I know I'll need to for at least a few months :(. Hopefully the break will help me be able to draw more and less painfully going forward ^u^.
Also yes those are precure stamps :P I bought a bunch from a local anime merch store, I got them since I have been enjoying kimi to idol (I think I'm up to ep 34?), still a little disappointed I didn't get stamp 4, cure zukyoon is my fave this season but oh well ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Didn't intend to draw the Babylon Rogue's next to them but that's sometimes how it goes with a travel sketchbook :P

At the beginning of the month I felt like doing some big the cat fanart because he's a very fun sonic character imo and I didn't really draw him much in my team rose page . I first did a thumbnail (and a quick froggy practice) because I got the idea at 1 or 2 am and than, did a sketch the next day and traced the sketch onto some mix media paper with coloured pencils! ...And than took forever to finishing the acrylic ink painting. -_-
But the painting was fun! And I think came out well! :-D Normally I paint in sections, with each own being shaded as I do the main colours but, this time, I put the shading in first with blue ink and than, added the colours on top. I also stuck with a limited colour palette of blue, purple, yellow and white ink, this is why froggy has dark green pattern (like he sometimes does) instead of orange (which I assume is the "true" pattern since it's the one he has in games). I also had fun adding the scrap booking elements to this page as always and, I think it matches the team rose page pretty well (which is next to this page :P).
as for the other drawing I did that in my travel sketchbook as a reward for doing a (albeit wonky) life drawing XD. If you couldn't tell it is based off an animation in sonic heros when Amy and Cream decided to just sit on top of big's shoulders which I personally think is adorable. I also tried to do some dynamic shading and highlights onto them with markers :P
Yesterday I decided to push myself to complete a drawing in one day since I haven't done that in a while and decided to do a simple fanart of Komugi and Yuki from wonderful precure. Yep I've gotten into the precure franchise... I've wanted to for a while now but never got around to it for many reasons but, after finding a youtube video that was an introduction to precure and, learnt most seasons are one off stories, I decided to give it a go!
Originally I wanted to start with Futari wa pretty cure, cuz it's the first season made, but sadly it's not on crunchyroll in australia :( and, I didn't feel like going to... alternative websites. So instead I took the advice of picking a season that had an appealing theme and wonderful precure's theme of animals seemed really cute!
And it was a very cute show! Of course it's clearly a show intended to sell toys to young kids but it still had a pretty cool story. Komugi and Yuki are both tied for fave character but Mayu is probably most relatable for me lol. I've also now finished watching tropical-rouge pretty cure, which I also enjoyed (maybe more than wonderful precure, not sure yet) and am now currently watching kimi to Idol pretty cure since that one is the newest one though, I don't have a lot to say about it since I'm only 3 episodes in :P.
As for this drawing I drew both Yuki and Komugi in their movie outfits.I haven't watched the movie yet but, I do like these outfits a lot more than their show civilian outfits. In future precure fanart I'll probably do my own outfit designs sometimes cuz so far, I find most of the civilian outfits to be very boring (I don't blame the show for that though as they need to be easy to animate/made into merch and, at least the outfits do have some effort put into them). That said, it was a lot of fun translating these characters into my art style since it's quite different to the show's art style. I also have them both wearing nail polish and yuki wearing eye shadow and earrings cuz I think it suits her :3
So I uh may be a bit hyper fixated with sonic the hedgehog and after playing sonic heros for a little bit (sadly after the first zone the disk got stuck in a loading loop... still need to figure out the cause) I really wanted to draw some team rose fanart because these three are such a funny and cute trio to me.
I don't think I am at present very good at drawing sonic characters (especially big, hence him only getting a sketch :>) but with my current hyperfixation I hope to improve that and I guess find my own style with these goobers (I already want to experiment with how I draw Amy's hair more for example as, even child me, felt modern Amy's hair didn't look very hedgehog like).
Also yes I did draw Cream in Classic Amy's outfit XD thought it would be a fun concept since the "classic" sonic characters are sometimes* implied to be younger versions of the "modern" versions so I could see cream one day visiting Amy's house, finding her old outfit, begging to wear it and Amy giving in since the clothes would otherwise be left in a dark corner of her wardrobe forever :P
*I say sometimes because they also seem to be implied to be AU versions? and both I think??? very confusing but that's how it goes with sonic lore/canon and tbh I think that's pretty cool cuz it give more freedom of interpretation I feel.
A while ago I went to an art store that was giving out free jasart orange jumbo coloured pencils so I of course grabbed one and decided to try it out for some profile sketches of the main four from tropical rouge :D.
I'm not super happy with how I drew all the girls, Asuka and Minori I feel are especially not the best looking here, but I do really like how I drew Manatsu! Probably helps for her I was directly referencing a screenshot. Also dw I will draw Laura in future, just couldn't fit her in here :P.

So a few days I wanted to draw more vocal synth fanart and ended up with this unhinged page XD.
First I drew a comic of Gumi coming home to her slacker roomates. Do I hc Gumi, Gakupo and Lily as all being romates in a crappy apartment cuz they're all from the same company? maybe... with that said Una and other internet co. synths live in different places.
Then I drew Lily and Ritsu interacting cuz I hc them as besties who are constantly being bitchy to each other. I like to think they started off on bad terms, because Ritsu bragged about being a better singer then Lily online (starting internet beef between the two) but then, circumstances lead to them interacting and learning they actually have a lot in common! So now they're friends and, hang out to go clothes shopping and shit talk everyone.
next I drew Ruko gambling (because that being a hobby of theirs is funny to me so of course I keep it for my hc's) and a Momo cuz she's great.
and lastly I drew Gakupo and Kaito messy making out and unfortunately making it Gumi's problem...
Also I know a few of these synths also have synth v vb's and Ritsu also has a deep vocal VB but calling this utau & vocaloid drawings was just easier for me :P
A few days ago I finished another precure fanart! \^O^/
It was a lot of fun designing an outfit for her, thought it's kinda just a mix of her everyday and winter outfits from the show (lol), with a more detailed skirt of course. Still I really like the results but I think sticking with a green, blue green and blue colour scheme def helped as the colours imo are what tie this fanart together ✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧
p.s I took an embarrassingly long time to draw her eyes (´-﹏-`；), I didn't think I'd struggle to translate them into my art style but I think in the end I did it XD
