    “ afternoon.  ain’t seen you around before  ;;  what brings you to town ? ? ”  it’s not  prying,  at least that’s what he’s told himself.  he’d overheard the guy asking around about some  HOTELS  in town.  seemed like a  perfectly reasonable  reason to come over and introduce himself. 

      it’s got nothing to do with the way his  hackles  raise just from looking at the guy.  that buzzing in the back of his head that screams  ‘ this guy isn’t an average joe ’  &&  feels a little bit too much like  the old days  when people who carried themselves  LIKE THAT  were either shooting with him or shooting at him. but maybe he’s just being paranoid.

               or maybe there’s more to this guy than a  smile  &&  a cup of coffee.
