Beware of the trolls - part 2
We live in a world were many a cyber bully hides behind the alias of “guest” by logging into sites and posting their repugnant garbage free of anonymity. As I’ve stated previously, fansites have their fair share of phantom bloggers; hiding behind VPN’s so you can’t trace their IP - so sure they will never get caught. Too afraid of exposing their true identity because that would mean you know who they are and where they’re located. But are more than happy to trace where you have come from, right down to high school/middle school and the very street you once lived in.
Their insidious need to profess their hatred of anything you post, the vapid toxicity of their rants - their reasons behind the hatred they spew, simply because you have a corner of the webspace that belongs to you and your opinions, well how dare you have that right?
My advice…don’t feed them. Don’t give them what they so desperately need - attention. Block and report or simply just block. They hang on to your every word, your every reblog and post. They crave the attention you give them by replying to their bile and phlegm, they want to get a rise out of you, because then they feel vindicated. Those more vocal have more to loose. In every fandom there are trolls; cave dwelling haters. You expose them by replying back to them, it makes them feel somehow important, needy, desperate. The more attention you give them, the more they flourish under your misdirected guidance. Their mental behaviour is exposed quite quickly because of their needy grasp on fantasy - they have you in the corner, you vulnerable, you exposed. If they were so apt at being cyber sleuths “I know where you live” google is a wonderful thing and you know what else is - blocking and deleting their sorry ass. They use threats like this to make you feel vulnerable - they get under your skin by threatening your very existence - thus leaving themselves wide open. They dox and mine peoples information for what gain, to have the upper hand - and do exactly what with it?
