its not a huge deal its just that surgery schedules didn't quite work out such that i wouldn't have to miss any school, and i wont be in classes so itll only be work that i have to get covered. still my bargaining position is "lmao" because we're not unionized and have zero protections beyond my boss's goodwill, and, lol

i see diagnoses as mostly a thing that can be good if they help ppl contextualize their experiences but theres nothing like essential or absolute inside of them idk its just a matter of self-identification i think

yeah like this has kind of been my thinking lately like... i dont think a diagnosis describes a cause or anything inherent... its just a name for whatever presentation of symptoms. like i dont think theres any such thing as a "real" diagnosis and i hate seeing people be afraid that theyre faking (which even i worry about a lot of times). i just think a focus on diagnosis puts a really unnecessary & difficult pressure on us (the people being diagnosed) to prove our authenticity
