if you want a good ultraman movie that stands alone, a lot of the heisei ultra movies are considered “stand alone” to each of their series. most of the recent movies have some connections to previous ultra series, but are considered stand alone even if you have no idea what’s going on because hey they gotta use their money somehow!
here are some to consider!
ultraman the next ( this is the “starter” movie for what is to be known as the series ultraman nexus. it stands alone/apart from the general ultraman franchise because it was an attempt to reboot it in an odd direction. more or less worked )
super ultra mega monster galaxy battle ( this movie is considered “stand alone” despite introducing characters related to the heisei/showa era ultraman. the main lead, more or less, of this series is ultraman zero )
almost all the others are series movies with the lead of whatever was airing at the time as MC
