#096: Cyclife
A highly derived Astroclade that integrated heavier elements to make a planet inside itself, wanting to take the role of protector of life to the next level.
This planet-sized creature harbors all kinds of lifeforms inside, thriving in a stable environment.
After it's gotten old enough, or if lethal damage comes to a Cyclife, it will revert back to its polyp stage, reverting all creatures inside to just their genes, and as it grows into an adult again, it will rebuild the fauna with these gene packets, sowing them like seeds within its hollow body. All creatures that live in a Cyclife are bound to this immortal cycle of rebirth every so often.
It travels the cosmos looking for new genomes to add to its biosphere, so every cycle will be slightly different from the previous one.
Inspired by Turritopsis dohrnii: the Immortal Jellyfish! And an insane dream I had about the end of our universe being a cycle!
