trashline orbweavers like this one (Cyclosa insulana) are calm and not easily provoked, but this one had a very eventful couple of minutes - as she was wrapping up some prey when i approached, a fly was spooked into her web by my presence. then, with her attention divided between the old prey and the new, she noticed me and scurried to slot herself back into her line of debris, deciding that the ideal dinner atmosphere required more peace and quiet and less of me
