Cyrenia
“Do not be daunted by the enormity of the world's grief.” “Do justly, now.” “Love mercy, now.” “Walk humbly now.” “You are not obligated to complete the work, but neither are you free to abandon it.”
The Crown Princess; left the Capitol City to learn the ways of her people and to better understand their plight. While she was gone, the Church orchestrated a coup She is now being hunted as the true heir; the next in line for succession. Cyrenia needs to find allies, and ensure she has the power to enforce her rightful claim.
My homeland is a small kingdom, nestled within a rocky mountain range. I grew up among the peaks, and have become accustomed to finding little-used trails and paths. I spent most of my youth at a fortress monastery. A proving ground that trained warrior-priests.
Athletics -- From an early age, I was trained in athletics. Horseback riding, wrestling, climbing, and various track and field events.
Deception -- Honesty is important. Your word means a lot. But sometimes, not correcting someone when they make a false assumption can be beneficial. Using someone’s biases against them, and guiding them to believe what they want to believe, especially when it aligns with your goals isn’t truly a lie, is it?
History -- As a highborn, I was given the best education available. I learned from many traveling tutors, as well as from Temple Sages. My country was not always a Theocracy. Faith had always played a large part in our culture, but it was during the Time of Troubles that the priesthood really rose to power. Never the most natural scholar, I had to maintain my own discipline to learn from my tutors.
Intimidation -- There is no real advantage to being a bully. But sometimes it is expedient. Taking the wind out of the sails of someone with an over-inflated ego can be a great joy. Bullying a bully can be a great pleasure.
Persuasion -- Honeyed words and a silver tongue go a long way. The easiest way to get what you want, is to make someone think it was their idea.
Religion -- Raised within a Theocratic society, learned much about religion, and how it shaped the kingdom. Studied the tenets of multiple faiths, though as her understanding grew, so did the mounting pressure to abandon her studies increase. I was never too keen on learning religion. Most of the knowledge I gained through absorbing it from my surroundings.
