(bad day by daniel powter plays in the background)
Her jaw tightened and untightened, as did her hands balled into fists and pressed against her sides. With her arms crossed in front of her, everything about her body language screamed don't talk to me. To say she'd had a shitty day would have been a wild understatement. She'd had beyond a shitty day.
First, she'd gotten to school late and been ordered to stand outside the classroom by a substitute teacher. That was enough to hint towards the rest of the day, and May had been more than happy to just leave, but as she was walking out the principal just so happened to be making rounds and caught her. Then everything sort of just tumbled downhill from there. She was given a detention for trying to ditch, failed two tests, forgotten her homework, and had no lunch money.
While she was sure her father would be gone, usually away on business trips, the brunette didn't want to risk it. So, on the off chance her father was home and waiting for her--she was sure the school had called home--May headed downtown. The bustling of the busier part of the city would take her mind off things, or at least that was what she was telling herself now that she was sitting on the bus.
May hadn't been aware that she'd been so tired. Though it could be expected, as far as days went, hers had been exhausting. It wasn't until someone was shaking her gently, that she came back to consciousness with a sudden jolt.
"Whoa--! Wha--?? No, what?! I'm awake!!"
