Magic Makes the World Go ‘Round, by Cyrus Physhor
Magic makes the world go ‘round
As every filly knows It brings the dawn; pulls down the moon; But a question I must pose—
Babe, why can’t my magic Keep you right here by my side? Whate’er I cast, it doesn’t last You’re hurting this mare’s pride.
My eyes like magic mirrors Show my love for you is true Yet with your eyes a-wanderin’ Am I not enough for you?
Yeah, magic makes the world go ‘round You hear it every year. It’s friendship, love, and all that jazz But that won’t stop my fears
Oh Babe, why can’t my magic Make you soothe my loving heart? Your cheating ways sawed it in half You’re tearing me apart...
I burn for you, hot as a star That sparkles in the skies You love the heat, but then you go And quench it with your lies!
To bare it all, I love you dear— I’ve nothing up my sleeve. But if I’m just another trick I’lll take my bows… and leave.
This one actually started life as the cover for Ministry of Special Services: File 02. Then I took one look at what Cyrus had sketched out and said, “Aaah, this is a CLEAN comic! You can’t pose one of our characters like that for the cover! Dx”
But later I relented and had him use it for this.
And yes, this is the full text of Trixie’s big number from File 03. In my defense I was a bit drunk when I wrote it, so there’s that.
Edit: Oh, spoilers for issue 3, obviously. /)_- I really have to pay better attention to my queue.
