J says: My foremost memory of this meal was the vegetarian option on the Summerlicious menu. It was a large slab of roasted tofu. Brought to the table it looked like an opaque Jello mold, wobbling and weird and thoroughly uncreative. I’m an undisguised critic of Winter- and Summerlicious, though; I think diners give too many restaurants a pass on offering boring and cheap options. Too many variations on the wedding reception trio of beef-chicken-veg. In Czehoski’s case, pair that quivering brick of tofu with inattentive service and mild attitude and, well, it wasn’t good. Rating: J 

A says: We showed up here for a large group dinner during Summerlicious. Maybe those two things combined make it a skewed review, but we got poor service and stingy portions of mediocre food. Some of the things on their regular menu look possibly interesting... but they wouldn't let us order from that, so I wouldn't know. Rating: A

Popcorn creme brûlée: popcorn is made in oil with chillies, garlic and thyme thrown into the mix and then placed atop an perfectly caramelized mason jar of thick custard. The creme brûlée wasn't too sweet and the crispy torched top stuck to the popcorn to make a wonderful caramel corn. Czehoski - 678 queen west, 416 366 6111
