!!!!DZEN BRAINROT!!!ok,, but. if you were to point out the main differences between demon zen & canon zen, what would it be ? in personality manners / just the ones that stand out !

here's a big one: at first glance, he'd seem braver than canon zenitsu! although really, he'd get just as scared of any threat that comes his way, but instead of his first instinct being to protect himself, his first instinct would be to protect any loved ones he might be facing this threat with.
he isn't interested in marriage. or, rather, he tries to push down any attraction he might have to anybody.
he's way gentler. canon zenitsu is always quick to practically leap onto his friends or cling to them really hard- but since d!zen is super aware of his own strength, he tends to be less... intense.
(except with inosuke. when they become friends, they also start roughhousing for fun- and even then, zen can't bring himself to go all out. inosuke is pretty much the only person who makes zenitsu feel like being strong can be fun.)
on that note, he's way more affectionate. he turns into the biggest cuddle-bug when he gets more comfortable with the rest of the squad, especially after they complete particularly life-threatening missions together.
here's the biggest one: instead of thinking he's going to die soon, he thinks he's basically already dead. he's a demon, so he might as well be, right? that mindset is why he's given up on finding a partner and starting a family; how he manages to push through his fear time and time again to protect the people he loves. fate ripped away the future he always dreamed of-- so all he has is now. all he has is them. and he'd do anything to protect them.
