whew managed to redo this in time! Helped that I already had made design/pose/layout decisions and had references handy, sped things up quite a bit. Not quite how it was turning out originally, but that’s okay!
Here we have Roommate’s D&D character from my ‘Mesoamerica/Teotihuacan’ campaign, Obsidian Warrior, Fighter and Imperial Anthropologist, here to study the cultures of the newly conquered colonies. And not-so-secret worshipper of the demon “god” Seven Macaw.
Adelaja, former Ghanan Soldier, was rescued from zombification at the hands of an evil sorcerer (Desperate to defend Ghana from the invading Teotihuacanos, his company sought magical means to increase their strength. The sorcerer technically granted this, but failed to release the soldiers upon the conclusion of the war)
Mazatl, O.W.’s unpaid intern assistant and apprentice. O.W. refuses to remember Mazatl’s name, simply calling him ‘Bob.” Usually sent to do difficult or unpleasant tasks, it is a mystery why he puts up with this
Bada, an elderly halfling O.W. purchased from slavers in the homeland. By far the most competent member of the group (including O.W. too, usually...), he seems like he must have been something more than a simple slave in his youth...
And... (heavy DM sigh) Mongo. The rat-person. Obsidian Warrior’s prized ‘creation’ (really an accident of magic: he has been unable thus far to repeat this ‘feat’, which was done with a haphazard mixture of magical herbs). He’s just the worst. Basically all of the downsides of being a rat AND person and none of the benefits. (Which is understandable, as Mongo was not even orininally a proper rat. O.W. came into conflict with some actual Ratmen, and the Rat priest turned one of his useless henchmen into a pile of rats. Mongo was created from one of those rats).
