Leave a “Nurse Me” in my ask, and I’ll write a drabble about my character healing yours.
This easily could be among the stupidest of stunts she’d ever pulled. Katherine Pierce was known of her cunning, decisive, and survivalist nature- not acts of stupidity such as this. Yet, there she was, trespassing on the large Mikaelson family estate in Mystic Falls, in which resided the immortal hybrid that hunted her down for centuries and still wanted her head only his mantle. Why was she risking this? Because someone wasn’t answering his damn phone. It’d been days since she had last heard from Elijah, and from what she’d heard around town, no one else had heard from him either. It led her to one simple conclusion- Klaus had done something to him. Elijah was too dedicated to his family to just up and leave without a trace, Katherine knew that, though what she didn’t know, was why exactly she felt so obliged to get involved in their family matters. Yet, there she was, creeping along the silent halls of the large manor in search of any sign of the eldest remaining Original.
Turning a corner into the dark basement level, Katherine let the dark hues of her eyes land upon several coffins- one for each remaining sibling, though only one was occupied. Her body moved towards it in a fluid motion- one she could hardly remember making though her heels were audible against the ground below. Without the need to second guess her decision, her fingers gripped the lid of the coffin and raised it up, only to let her gaze fall on the grey ashen face of one Elijah Mikaelson. Just as she’d suspected, a dagger stuck out from his heart and something crawled under her skin at the sight.
Humanity is a vampire’s greatest weakness. No matter how easy it is to turn it off, it just keeps trying to fight its way back in.
Reaching out her hand, Katherine ran her fingers gently along the expensive material of his suit, up the length of his arm before trailing their way to the handle of the intruding dagger. There would be consequence for this- furthering angering Klaus, bringing his attention to her to further endanger her own life. Yet, at the moment, she didn’t seem to really fear the repercussions of her actions because she owed this to him. As deluded with false hope as he may have been, at least he’d put that in her- his faith and hope that somewhere in her was still some form of good. She may never be able to be his Katerina that he so desired, but the least she could do was show him that she wasn’t the lost cause everyone labeled her as. She could prove that despite centuries of having to look out for herself, she could still at the very least care for another, and perhaps that could be enough.
Wrapping her fingers wrapped around the handle tightly, pulling the dagger from his heart and tossing it to the side. The effects were not instantaneous as they never were, and she awaited patiently for him to stir. Unfortunately, soon as he’d begun- the sound of Klaus’ approach came near. Sure, Katherine could carry Elijah out of there, but her chances of getting past Klaus in such a manner were slim. She needed him to come out of his daze, and lacked the human blood needed to do so. Quickly, she bit down on her own rest, bringing it to his lips. Of course, it’d be nowhere near as satisfying as the human blood, but it would do in a pinch. Her free arm secured around him bringing him to his feet before she could feel him push away her arm- apparently taking her blood went against his code as a gentleman, but at least he was now mobile. “Come on… we need to get out of here.”
