Arthur had been locked in a small corner room, to be kept away from all other prisoners patients. After the riots he incited, they believed he was too dangerous to be allowed to interact with anyone. Still, he didn’t mind the solitary confinement too much, it gave him time to work on his jokes, to plan how he was going to get out, and to think about Thomas Wayne’s death, which always brought a grin to his face. Something else great about the solitary, was that he wasn’t actually alone all the time. More often than not, he would have a visitor come and stand outside of his door.
Though he couldn’t see the mysterious figure, he had found out a lot about her during their daily chats. Her name was Paisley, she was five and her mom was a nurse. They had become quick friends, considering Paisley liked Arthur’s laugh, and then his jokes, and Arthur enjoyed anyone who was willing to talk to him normally. He was almost sad the day he decided he needed to say goodbye. He thanked Paisley for being so kind.
When he finally attempted to break out, he didn’t realize he’d meet the child face to face. Despite being covered in the blood of his psychologist, he couldn’t stand to be simply runaway. “Paisley?” he asked, his hands still in handcuffs. “It’s me, it’s Arthur....sorry I look scary....hey where’s your mom?” he asked. There was a few reasons for this. First and foremost, he was sure there were already police searching for him ready to shoot. He didn’t want her to be in danger by herself. Secondly he figured a nurse would be able to find some sort of keys to get his hand cuffs off.
Though the lockdown alarms were buzzing and the PA system was ranting about searching for Arthur he followed the little girl until finally he was met with what looked like a taller version of her. “Uhh, hi. Found her wandering around, figured it probably wasn’t safe. Crazy people out here.” Arthur joked, letting out a loud laugh before he held his wrists out. “Help me.” he said, really really hoping he wouldn’t have to threaten the woman. He wasn’t really into hurting children or single moms, but he needed out.
