I still exist!
Illness has been kicking my behind for so long, but I picked up my stylus today for the first time in ages. Was just sketching but have accidentally started a new reference for Art Fight. Guess I'm joining in this year after all?
May have to limit how many pieces I can realistically draw, but will prioritise friends/mutuals from here if anyone wants a picture :)
An art gifting game
Next up in the roster of my D&D campaign are the NPC's! On the left we got Lucerio Fiorelli, the High Priest in the country of Lunestia; and Maribelle (also known as Mary) Parakleet, the Right Hand to the God of Death and his longest standing Emanator!
Fun fact: Lucerio is a selective mute and only speaks when he's speaking scriptures or offering consolation. He's also very hard-of-seeing, and the blindfold is to help him not get migraines. The little birdie on his staff speaks and sees for him!
Other fun fact: Maribelle's weapon is HEAVILY inspired by Death's from Puss in Boots: The Last Wish! Also, her eyes are always glowing like that. It lets her see the dead~
The Bellas
Hey peeps!
Look!! It’s my OCs!!! It’s been so long!
I had a class project last quarter where we’d design two “odd couple” characters - basically two characters who are total opposites but work together anyway - and I immediately thought of my lovely ladies, Bellator and Belladonna <3
These designs are their current ones, and I’m EXTREMELY happy with them. My professor really liked them too!
Guys, I had such a vivid dream last night, and I need to tell you about it.
We’ll start with what’s most important:
The character that was technically me was a middle-aged ex-noblewoman (human) who had been (wrongfully) framed for the murder of her husband. She somehow found herself on her old estate, and she was just screaming and sobbing at the state her home had been left in. It was completely abandoned and overgrown, and it hurt that the place she had her happiest memories in was completely left alone after she ran away (they probably would have killed her(??)).
Then, a middle-aged teifling and a young human boy come across her, and they invite her to travel with them until she can get her bearings and he okay on her own. Her leaving very much does not happen as they quickly grow fond of her and vice versa.
There are two very specific parts of the sequence with them that stood out to me.
The first one was the woman and the young boy. Her husband had gifted her a golden necklace, and this boy is so adamantly trying to find her a matching seat of earrings in a jewelry shop. I think it was like.. supposed to mean that he and the teifling were also important to her? She found it very endearing, and they had a kind of mother-son relationship.
The second scene was the woman walking through a town with the teifling, and there was a band or a bard playing nearly. She starts to dance a little while they walk, twirling around, and he asked what she was doing. I remember her asking him something along the lines of, “what, do you not dance?” with a soft smile. And something that didn’t happen but I actively wanted to happen while still dreaming was for her to take his hands and start dancing in the streets with him. They were also starting to fall for each other.
ALSO!! The boy and the teifling had a father-son relationship. This kid looks up to the teifling so much, and the teifling wasn’t, like, super mushy with him, but he cares for and worries about this kid.
I want more of this. I want more of this group so much.
I drew them sometime after I woke up, too.
