You and Danny keep your relationship hidden. Some of the boys know but surprisingly none of the girls know because you don't post anything on social media about him or talk about him because you don't want them to spill it. He's very sweet about it since it's your first relationship you just want it to be you two not you two and the whole world
not gonna lie i struggled with this. i asked like 5 different people how i could do this and only one idea came up: this. soooo i hope this is good enough for you!

it was simple:
no pda.
no instagram posts.
no snapchat posts.
no vsco posts.
to anyone else, no one would be able to tell you and danny were dating. you didn’t have a problem with that, either. it was your first ever real relationship, and with one long heart to heart conversation with danny one night, everything lead to the topic of why you kept it a secret.
“this is your first real relationship, correct?” danny asks. you’re both facing each other on his bed, and while you’re sitting between his legs your own are crossed indian style. his hands are resting on your thighs, thumbs running over the fabric of his sweatpants you have on.
“it is,” you say and danny nods, thinking for a second. “that’s okay... right, danny?” your hand goes up to cup his cheeks as your eyebrows furrow in confusion at the boy who’s looking at his lap.
“love, of course it is,” he chuckles and places his hand on top of yours. “i just don’t want to mess this up, you know? i don’t want to have ‘rules’ for our relationship, but i think we should keep it lowkey, if that makes any sense. i don’t want us to get caught up in social media and trying to be the perfect couple, especially since this is your first relationship. i wanna take it slow with you.”
your eyes well up with tears at his words, because no one has ever said something so sweet to you. no one has ever cared about you the way danny has. “danny... you could never mess this up, because what we have is special, and you know that. i’m okay with keeping us lowkey, but i don’t want to be kept a secret. i don’t want to have to shuffle away from you whenever someone walks into the room, or drop your hand, or have to take my head off your shoulder. that’s what i don’t want.”
“then we won’t do that. we’ll still be a couple, promise, but without all the pressures of everyone else,” danny says simply, and a smile forms on your face, but the tears still blur your eyes. “please don’t cry, pretty girl.” his thumbs go up to wipe under your eyes.
“i’m not crying. it’s just – god, i love you danny. there i said it.” you can barely meet his eyes, but his hands cup your cheeks and force you to look at him. and god, you’re glad you do.
the smile on his face is one that could light up an entire room. it’s contagious, and you find yourself smiling right back at him. “you love me?” he asks. he can’t even believe it. you nod, and all he can really do is press his lips to yours. when he pulls away, he rests his forehead on yours. “say it again.”
“i love you, danny weight,” you whisper, wrapping your arms around his neck. his eyes are closed and he’s grinning like a fool.
“i love you too, y/n.”
so just like that, no one really knew about your relationship, even five months in. of course your parents knew. your parents adored danny and danny’s parents adored you. but when it came to danny’s teammates? maybe two of them knew. none of them asked, so of course it just didn’t come up. being best friends beforehand certainly helped – there was a lot of innocent cuddling and ‘i love yous’ before, so no questions asked.
“danny,” you pull away from his lips breathless, but instead of kissing you again danny trails his lips down your neck. “the boys are gonna be here soon.”
danny groans and he slides his hand around to find his phone. “babe, it’s six twenty. i said six thirty, we have ten minutes. if i can’t kiss you for the next like, five hours, i want it to be worth it.” you roll your eyes but nonetheless press your lips back to his. danny’s hips squeeze your hips and you involuntarily rock your hips against his, causing danny to let out a groan. “princess, i wouldnt do that if i were you.”
you giggle against danny’s lips and pull away, your thumbs caressing his cheeks. “yeah? why’s that?”
“i don’t think you wanna find out, darling,” danny mumbles before pressing his lips back to yours. he decides to try and make good work with the decent time you guys have, so he carefully lays you back on the couch without breaking the kiss. however, it seems fate has other plans, and the door to the basement flies open.
“what the fuck.”
danny pulls away from you quickly, and you both look at the door with wide eyes. there, you see alex, jack, cole, trevor and spencer all standing there with their jaws dropped.
“uh, surprise?” danny manages to squeak out, but all of the boys are too stunned.
“i– you– you two– when?” jack asks, eyes going back and forth from danny and you. you give them all a sheepish look.
“almost six months now.” you mumble.
“you owe me twenty dollars, zegras!” spencer shouts, pointing an accusing finger at his best friend. trevor rolls his eyes. “i called it.”
danny sighs, running his hand down his face. “just, please don’t tell everybody. that’s not what we wanted at all.”
“you got it buddy. your secrets safe with us.” jack smiles and claps danny’s shoulder with his hand. “atta boy, knew you had it in you.”
