Warsong by D⋆A†A☭S
Saw D.A.A.S. tonight (well 2/3 of them). Adolescent me was overwhelmed, excited and a little emotional about the passage of time. It wasn't my fault - they performed Warsong in conjunction with this footage. It was a whole lotta fun and it made me realise that I REALLY need to do something about the fact that I only own Icon on cassette.
I went with a friend to see the Doug Anthony All Stars (D.A.A.S.) perform in Yarraville on Saturday night. They are an Australian musical comedy group who had a show called D.A.A.S. Kapital back in the early 90s. Irreverent, crude, and very, very funny. Sadly, Richard Fidler (with the guitar) wasn't there, he was replaced by Paul LIvingston (who opened the show in his Flacco persona).
The second last show of the night was my favourite D.A.A.S. song, Warsong, which they performed alongside video screens showing this above clip. Tim Ferguson got a monumental roar of appreciation when he stood himself up from his wheelchair (he has MS) for the last part of the song. They're still funny bastards, and looking damn fine for 50 & 52 year olds!
