KNOCK IT OFF ! / CAMERON CADE X BLACK FEM
Cameron attends a "life or death" martial arts tournament so he can be recognized as one of the upcoming greats (or at least that's what his dad would've wanted), but the game isn't as honest as it used to be.
D.O.A. AU. Mentions of violence. Cocky!Cam. (f) has a slight west african accent. Use of the n word (dw I'm melanatedd). Cam lk fell in love. Plot with partial smut. Messy wrestling.
"Woo shit." Cameron looked across the fighting grounds with dilated pupils and a parted mouth for flies. His manager, Tom, wipped a stringy fringe from his glasses and grinned.
"Woo shit is right, cam. This!" Tom throws his hands out to embrace the godly ambience and the fighter side eyes.
"Is where fighters have given their blood, sweat, and tears! Thisss!! Is where giants are born and killed in the name of honour." Yeah yeah, Cameron's been told that by his father hundreds if not thousand of times.
Seeing the engarved names on those towering pillars made him feel his spirit in a sense.
"You're all on your own champ." Cameron looked back at Tom, smile faltering as the man set his hands on his hips. His job was officially done.
"... Thank you." Cameron squinted against the sunlight, buzzed head nodding as he recounted how much time it took to finally get.. here.
After saying his goodbyes, Cameron made his way to the hotel and took the elevator to reach his room. When the resort's keycard granted him entry, Cameron raked his eyes across everything.
His calloused hands drifted over the lavish bed, a small welcome note was propped on the nightstand, and a wide veiw of the beach was offered through his window.
"Talk about paradise..." he rasped.
Beep beep !
Cameron checked the watch he was required to have by order of the D.O.A corp.
"Reminder : Dinner/Contestant gathering in three minutes. Your attendance is mandatory."
Cam raised his brows and let the watch go black shortly after.
"Copy that."
He managed to find a suitable outfit that wasn't extra but still classy.
Watching different men and women pour out onto the resort filled him with anticipation because a match could take place anytime.
"Hey, I like ya cut?"
Cameron slightly turned around to see a man coming up to him, and his breath caught deep, it was Xavier fucking white. His role model.
"Mr.. Mr. White? oh my fuckin'..." Cameron fluttered his eyes and checked his body to make sure he looked decent.
"It's an.. honor to meet you. I.." Xavier took Cameron's trembling hand into grasp, smiling big.
"Always thankful to run into a supporter, man." Cameron chuckled in shock, green eyes still flickering about the man's face like he was halucinating.
"Since I was young, like a toddler.. I've watched you. My dad made me study each fight you were in.. I watched every tape. I swear.." Xavier patted over Cameron's hand.
"Yeah I don't doubt it nigga, it's all in ya eyes.." he wriggles two fingers in Cameron's line of sight and they share a laugh. Hands eventually separating.
"But thank you, I really appreciate that." Cameron nodded hopefully, he may be acting like some little fan right now but it's all out the window.
"Now, tell me about this design on the side of ya head.. it's hard." Cameron traces his fingers over the intricate cut and smiles.
"Um, my brother's a barber and he insisted. It also blends in with my scar. I ain't have much of a say.." Xavier smirked.
"Well, it's fire. See you around cam."
He nodded instantly and then buffered when Xavier was out of sight, how'd he know his name? Oh shittt, there's no coming down from this.
Cameron fixed himself a plate from the open buffet, his sheepish smile unable to fade. Going to turn on his heel, he immediately paused when a woman stood right behind him.
"My fault" He looked up the length of her, neutral face turning into something else the more he took in her robust figure.
"You're good." You blink and hold your plate close, waiting to get some fruit. Cameron steps to the side after realizing his being a blockade. What emotions just pulsed through his body?
He looked over his shoulder and saw you picking up tongs, bent over just the slightest with your calves flexing. A bronze dress hugging your waist and thighs, golden arm bands strained around your biceps.
Cameron hummed and bit his lip, forcing his body to walk away.
"Get your head in the game." He breifly closed his eyes and hoped to never run into such temptation again. But the next day... he did.
Cameron doesn't know if thinking about you before bed brought the occurrence to life, but when he decided to visit the spacious dojo for an early morning workout, he saw you outside. Stretching.
"Fuck." Cameron looked away when you switched to cat-cow position, his gloved hands holding a weighted punching bag steady so he strike it. And for multiple reps he did, deep 'uss!'s leaving his lips.
He took a moment to bounce on his feet, keeping up the stamina as he backed away from the object and went for free attacks. Swinging lunges, quick elbow cuts, flying kicks. All MMA.
Cameron huffed as he envisioned the perfect opponent, but suddenly the doors of dojo screached aside. He glanced to the source of the sound and found you entering through, the sight of you in a black support bra and tight shorts made his mouth water.
"This gotta be a test." He thinks to himself, breifly rubbing his eyes.
Your low and thick braid swung as you looked for dulled training weapons on the shelves.
He wondered again, should he start conversation or just leave you be? Cameron's gloved hand took a swipe at his nose, eyes sneakily finding you once again.
You were currently twirling a metal pole in your hands, turning his way as you tested it's capability.
"You good with batons too?" You look up and stop. Cameron twisys his body around with a smile on his face, eyeing your weapon.
"Was that a joke?" You smirk and go to hold the pole like a broom. He steps forward three times, still dripping sweat, still in his gloves and sweat pants.
"Nah I was bein' serious." He furrows his brows and looks down to undo his gloves.
"Oh. Then.. no. I've never dealt with batons." You look from side to side, feeling a familiar sense of awkwardness seep inside of you.
You're twenty-six and still socially challenged. It seems like everyone's easier to connect to when you're hashing things out on a mat.
Cameron walks past you to put his gloves away, sweaty body almost brushing your shoulder.
"Oh yeah? What's your style." You look at the ceiling.
"A mix of things." He kisses his teeth. "Likeee?"
"If they put us against eachother, you'll see." You raise a brow and take the center of the mat, but your attention gets stolen by the sound of metal clinking. Cameron took a fighting pole.
"You tryna be mysterious.." your eyes follow him as he moves to be infront of you, arms lifting the weapon behind his head.
"But I tend to get impatient soo..." And your intrest is peeked. The sparring is pure fun, especially when Caneron looses grip of his pole at the right time, giving you the chance to press your metal against his neck.
He tells you "you're intresting" and you back away with some curt remark that neutralizes the air, or better yet your heart.
There's no reason he should be speaking to you like that, in that deeply boyish.. inquisitive tone.
He shouldn't gaze at you that way.. with respect and.. whatever! you need to be focused.
As the day goes on you realize the more you both pass by one another, the more he becomes quite annoying. In the midst of dozens of fights, he was put against another martial artist who was well versed in Kung Fu.
Watching the two come after one another on the big screen was thrilling. You breifly wished Cameron would face some sort of defeat, but in the limitation of a hotel hallway, he won.
⚡️ "CAMERON .. WINS !"
His glistening face flashed across the screen, sporting an infamous smirk. You found yourself frozen by the end because you noticed... Cameron Cade may be a martial arts prodigy.
But other than that, he was foolish. When Cameron found that you were free and about, he came by your side and got braggadocious. After your first match, he then turned insufferable.
"Hmmm, laamb wrestling? Am I right." You chewed on lunch and stared at Cameron as he nipped at his mouth with intrigue. The birds were chirping, the sun was kind and there were many other people he could bother.
"That and more. I'm surprised you know of it." He scoffs, looking across your plate.
"M' not new this, I'm true to this baby." You reach for your lemongrass tea, "Not you're baby." And sip it like a queen.
Cameron feels his face move against his will again, bending with satisfaction... getting warm.. and stupidly red in the ears.
"It's slang, relax mama." You set down your drink a bit too hard. "I'm not- call me by my name." He waves his hands surrender, lips quivering.
"Ooo calm downnnn, you must like it.." he picks at the cloth on the dining table.
"You're slick toungue doesn't work on me, but it might work on her?" Cameron follows your finger and sees a fellow female fighter, eh, he did catch her eyeing him a few times.
"Or her? Her aswell." You point out the last few until he brings his eyes back to you.
"I'm not an easy target." Cameron finds himself shrugging, eyes riding over your grogeous face and outfit for the day. "Well, fighters tend to like a lil challenge bab-"
You glare hard. "Ma'am." He corrects and you go back to eating your food.
As the days go on and the leader board reflects promise for few and failure for others, Cameron realizes you've been avoiding him. Which has dulled his excitement of the tournament.
He's spoken to other fighters but nothing beats your presence. He loves to tease, and watch you snap, then hide your smiles. You're really something...
Cause you're not intertaining him at all! and you're kinda mean. But that morphs you into a craving rather than a simple want anymore, and he's embarrassed.
But a blessing comes, the tournament throws a party for however many contestants are left.
Cameron's talking another fighter when a tap lands on his shoulder, and it's you. "Can we talk for a moment?" He fights his nerves with a smug look.
"Now you wanna talk? Thought you was ducking me for awhile." You end up kissing your teeth.
"No I've just been... this is serious, come." You grab his arm and he could yank it back whenever but the aggressiveness you have, the way you march on, he's entranced. And pathetic.
"Should've put up a fuckin fight.." he thinks.
You take him to the empty shore of the beach. Moonlight shining down before your feet.
"Why are you here, cameron?" He blinks at you and that question.
"to win the title of... best fighter. Obviously." He sounds a bit annoyed having to say it aloud, everyone's here for the same thing.
"Ok, listen. Nothing here is real, they're cheating the matches. Even bending the rules, you might not win." you softly urge with him. Cameron furrows his brows like he's getting a migraine.
"What are you talking about-"
Beep beep !
You both look down at your watches, and stop breathing.
"CAMERON VS. [YOU] . . . FIGHT!"
"Do you really want this?" He clenches his jaw, slightly wide eyes fixed on the timer. "Cameron?" He slowly looks up at you.
"I've wanted this my whole life." The waves tides slowly crash against the shore.
"This... tournament does not dictate you, especially not your talent. You need to believe me." He looked elsewhere, hands beginning to roll up his sleeves. "Let's just handle this. Please."
You sigh heavily and begin to take off your earrings. "Are you serious, cam." He steps back some to plant his feet into stance. "You already know the answer to that. Aren't you here to be the greatest?" You hiked your skirt so you'd be able to move.
"I once was, now I know better. So do you." Cameron narrowed his eyes. Heart beating steady as he calculated ways to make things.. quick.
The fight could not end without a knockout or death, you both dragged the match until your bodies were sore and aching.
And even then you continued on, one person being close to victory while the other flipped the tables again. You didn't want to win, but you knew you couldn't lose, or else they'd find you.
"I have a lot to lose.." Cameron panted.
"So do I." You circle around him.
"But this tournament is a simulation, cam. You are already great- I've seen you, I've seen you mimick!" He swallows, throat getting tight with a caught feeling.
"It takes you less then thirty seconds to learn a new martial art. You don't need masters of one technique to tell how talented you are.. just let this go..."
He shook his head, sweat flickering from his features. "... I can't." You decide to make a run for it. If neither of you manage to knock eachother out then you're both getting disqualified.
Cameron tries to catch you by the bunched up skirt but you're very very quick.
"SO WE RUNNIN NOW!?" He chased after you and into the bamboo sprouts. You panted heavily and threw your watch up to check the time.
"28 seconds remaining."
Small winces left your mouth as stepped on a nature's sharp objects, you couldn't even look back to see if Cameron was on your heels because you had to evade the tall bamboo sticks. But the constant crunching of leaves from behind sounded so angry in their pursuit.
He no longer said a thing. It seemed like he was in full predator mode, and in the blueish darkness you felt like prey.
"18 seconds remaining."
You finally glanced back too see cameron was no longer behind you. All this crunching had eventually just been your own. Your head whipped around in search of him.
Goosebumps started kissing your dark skin and you told yourself to keep calm, just keeppp calm.
But no, suddenly this god awful pressure striked your head and your vision went.. black.
Cameron lowered your body to the ground and placed two nervous fingers at your neck. You were still alive of course, just unconscious from his palm strike.
⚡️"CAMERON... WINS !"
Something nearby had moved and Cameron caught it, a man and a camera walking away from the scene with poise.
"He.." Cameron started, but he felt his request would be ignored. He looked back down at your body and got into position so he could carry you to the hotel.
It didn't feel good winning against you.
Cameron was in his head deep the whole time you were in his arms.
This was supposed be good, he was supposed to fucking happy. The leaderboard put his name in second place.
One more fight against a contestant and then he'd reach the very top. But instead of reminiscing on that, he was frustrated, the excitement just wouldn't seep in.
Especially when he layed you on his bed, fixing you to get comfortable.
Cameron hovered over body but you wouldn't stay asleep for too long. As soon as you blinked your eyes open he stood back to give you space. You didn't care about your surroundings. Not at all. You cared about that light skinned man standing at the side of the bed.
Harboring the audacity to look like a worried puppy.
"You slick bastard." He rolled his lips in and looked from side to side, guilty as charged. Cameron nodded his head in accountability.
"Sorry bout that." He scratched his neck as you turned over to sit up. But ache just spreaddd across your body, and the back of your head was pounding.
You didn't complain though, just breifly closed your eyes and sat on Cameron's bed. Accepting, enduring, thinking.
"They didn't take me?" Cameron partially blinked his eyes, inhaling as he came back to the present.
"Um- nah. I brought you here. You may be leaving tommorow though..." you chuckled.
"I'm not really going to leave the island, you just won't see me anymore." Cameron reluctantly wipes at his face, here you go with this theory.
"Ok, ok. Why do you keep talking this." You pat the space beside you, "come, since I may have limited time." He joins you slowly, face wearing down with seriousness.
One deep breath. "I took a detour in the resort during a match, I went in the building... where the masters go. And I overheard Xavier White talking about.. taking the blood of martial artists so he can adopt their styles." Cameron looked between your eyes.
"Xavier... said that?" You nod instantly.
"Yes, Cameron." Well shit that's making his head ache, literally. Cameron holds his skull before prompting you to go further.
"When I said you might not win that was incorrect, I actually think they've been watching you alot Caneron. But Xavier wants you the most." He massages his temple as you talk.
"So you saying.. we could become blood sacrifices to the greats, just so they can become.. greater." You shrug.
"Hollywood does it all the time." He laughs at that, hand dropping from his head.
"You gotta give me time to..." he motions between your bodies. "Process this." He finishes.
"Of course, Cam." You place your hands on your lap and linger in the silence.
".. Can... can I stay here for tonight." He makes a double take at you.
"I'm just worried something will happen." As if you needed to explain yourself? he nods gently.
"Yeah, yeah..." you smile faintly, just like you did back on that dojo.
"Okay. I'm gonna.. shower because I can't stand the smell of us combined. We've had a tough night." You go to stand as he huffs.
"Damn right, feel free to use anything and... wait let me get you a change of clothes." You watch as he goes through his suitcase for basketball shorts and a large vintage shirt.
"Thank you." Cameron nods and looks at you.
"No prollem." You take the clothes and dissapear in the bathroom for almost an hour, the switch is wordless and respectful.
Cameron looks shy coming out with a head towel and.. basketball shorts. Did he want you both to match, maybe.
You aren't used the domestic ambience.
"Do you want your bed-" he instantly waves his hand out, frowning deep. "Nah nah nah, keep it. Rest good." He says without looking at you. And when you try to go to sleep with cameron sitting on the carpeted floor watching TV, you can't.
So you get up and say, "I can't sleep." Cameron looks back at you, hand reaching for the remote beside his hip. "TV too loud?" He's already lowering the volume.
"No, I feel like I should be doing something." He sets the remote down with a sigh, "Yeah, you should be sleeping." You kiss your teeth.
"No you should be in this bed, I'm already disqualified." He furrows his brows, you sound bitter about it.
"Listen I'm good. You the one thas' paranoid-"
"I'm not paranoid, you're a fool!" Cameron breifly closes his eyes and turns his body. "You're getting loud." You cock your head.
"I'm getting loud?" Then you proceed to yell, causing a few residents to beat on their wall in protest.
"Now you're just being childish." You rip the covers from your hips and slide to the other side of the bed. Cameron slightly widens his eyes as he gets up.
"Woahh, where you goin?" You get closer and closer the front door.
"I can't spend another moment on this island, it's suicide." As soon as you get the threshold open he slams it closed. You tip your head back breifly, "Get out of my way."
"I thought you were way smarter than this." You look back, "You stopping me is an active threat to my life." He laughs in your face.
"I'm tryna help you! What makes you think you can just sprint out when there are cameras all around?"
"Are you one of them." Now you're just missing him clean off. His face drops, hand still pressed to the door. "You're being reckless." You smirk.
"Then you better be ready.." you jab an elbow in his chest and try the door again but he recovers fast enough to tear you from it. Your flying feet turn the light switch up as your bodies wrestle under the exposure.
"Girl- STOP!" You writhe in his arms, "NO! I'm going to kick you there?? I promise I wi-" your sentence is cut off when Cameron body slams you on the bed, it may have cracked.
He doesn't lose the opportunity to grip your fists as you attempt at punching him.
"You're so INFURIATING! Why are you on me?! I thought I was paranoid!" He pins your hands above your head with a loud "FUCK", eyes flitting over you like you're a wild animal.
"You need.. to relax." you kick your heels into his back and it hurts, but he endures it.
"Mmh, you can kick me.. all you want.. but I'm not letting you go." Your grunts and pants mix on top of his words as you try to find an infinite amount of ways to get out his hold with your feet. You're a wrestler after all. Cameron had forgotten.
He barely has time to gather himself when he realizes your bodies over rolling, off the bed. A few bones crack here and there, but nothing is broken.
Cameron groans as you quickly unravel yourself from him and reach for something on the night stand. It does not go unoticed.
"Is that a fuckin' PLATE-" He manages to get the dish before you can break it onto his head. The room turns into a mess and you have no empathy for the residents around you.
But somehow you end up on the rustled bed again, fighting for dominance and friction.
"You're..." you mutter, hands wrapped around Cameron's throat as he maintains a deadly grip on your wrists. He pants heavily, a bead of sweat rolling down his broad nose and onto your face. "Yes, it happens."
You really take him, his dampened buzz cut, dilated eyes, veins of adrenaline crawling over his arms and shoulders, you can even feel them at his neck.
"But that's besides the point, don't be stupid." You glare.
"Stay." He flutters his eyes in exhaustion, "so we can figure this bullshit out." Your face softens.
Gradually your hold loosens until your hands settle in his. Cameron sighs and pulls your bodies up from the bed. Head slightly tilted as he catches his breath. You do the same.
"Will you stay." You roll your eyes.
"with an inconvenience like you, how could I leave." He smirks, body finally relaxing now that you've surrendered. "Thank you."
You glance down at your hands, "You're still holding me."
"Do you mind?" He takes in your body language and realizes how disconnected you are from the moment, it's cute.
"Well, we're sweaty again." Cameron smiles in pure amusement, head ducking to catch your eyes. "Do you care."
Your heart skips a beat and your first instinct is to shove him away. Cameron chuckles to himself.
"Well damn, just tell me to get the fuck out ya face..." you scoot back as you both continue catching your breath together.
"Are you going to... handle that." Cameron looks at his boner and blushes. His veined hand coming over his shorts to cover it.
"What, you wanna fix it-" you grab your head and groan. Cameron widens his eyes, mouth caught in a half smile.
"Stop it! STOP asking me so questions!" He looks around.
"I mean, well.. answer em' then. It's prolly what yo awkward ass need anyway.." he scrunches his nose as if he doesn't like this side of you.
"I'm not awkward. Don't.." you take a breath.
"I just know how I want things and this is.. it isn't unfolding how I want it to unfold." Whatttt are you talking about.
"Expound." He squints his eyes and you try to gather new words.
"You're erect and flirting with me, because I caused you to be erect." Your fingers gesture with each layed out clause.
"Correct." He nods bluntly. It's silent.
"But if you not feeling me like that. I can beat it and we'll.." he raised his brows. "Never be in this position again." Waitttt, you don't want that.
"... No I'm capable, I can try..... to fix it." Cameron furrowed his brows.
"Try?" ....
A sigh leaves you. "This.. the way I'm acting now doesn't really secure practice partners. So! Yes I'm a virgin, and a bit strange, but I like your... I like the way you look.. there."
Cameron took a moment to digest that before getting close to you on the bed.
"Well, I like your honesty. And you know what you want so.. I'm not runnin' away no time soon." You faintly smile and take a moment to reach for his shoulders, but they're hovering.
"You doing the right thing, mama." He smiles at you fondly as you go to hold him with confidence, face nearing his. You're still nervous on getting as close as possible.
"And i'll make it easy for you." He looks up from your lips, warm patience lying in his gaze.
Cameron merged his mouth with yours, you had no problems with kissing, you were natural with it. "you know the steps?" Your head nodded as he layed you down.
"I like things soft." You threw out. Cameron turned his head at an angel.
"Vanilla, ok. Didn't think that was your bag.." he began pushing his shorts down and you watched his boxers come into veiw with that.. beautifully huge print.
"Yes. I'd like to be.. appreciated." He peaked at you through his brows, features turning Cheshire.
"Oh, Imma appreciate you. For sure." He enunciated the vowels with intension.
"... been wanting to ever since I saw you at that first dinner." He wouldn't treat you as if this intercourse was common place. You wanted things different, and he was going to make it different.
