                                          July 17 2016, 2:30 pm

[Director Augustine enters interrogation room and sits in front of subject. Subject is cuffed, collared and muzzled.]

Director Augustine: Good afternoon, Thomas. I would like to speak with you. However, that would require the removal of your muzzle. If I allow it removed, will you promise not to attack me? Nod yes or no.

[Subject rolls eyes, clearly displeased with current situation.]

Dir. A: Thomas, I’m asking politely. You can give me a clear answer. Otherwise, we’ll just assume the answer as a no.

[A muffled groan escapes the subject’s muzzle. Subject nods in affirmation. Director waves in guards (M. Freeman & W. Chu). Guards enter room and proceed to unlock subject’s muzzle, leaving room afterwords. Subject immediately begins communication, mimicking Freeman’s vocal patterns.]

Subject: So, to what do I owe the pleasure of a visit from the head bitch in charge?

Dir. A: A crass moniker, though not invalid. Thomas...May I call you “Tommy”?

Sub: Only if can call you “Augustine”.

Dir. A: You may. Tommy, I’d like to talk about your personal life.

Sub: Aww, you do care.

[Subject lays back in chair. Director picks up clipboard and skims through subject’s dossier]

Dir. A: It says here that your parents had you at a young age. In their twenties, I believe. If I may ask, were you-

[Subject interrupts]

Sub: An accident? Yes. Is that really important?

Dir. A: Not too much, no. I would, however, like to know if that impacted your relationship with your parents. 

Sub: Is that an order, Director?

Dir. A: Of course not. Merely a request.

[Subject sits for 7 seconds in contemplation of response.]

Sub: Well, they both love me. That’s undeniable.

[Subject begins to show signs of depression]

Sub:...But...My mother...She had plans for her future. She always wanted to see the world. Maybe film a documentary or two.

Dir.A : I imagine the revelation of her pregnancy put plans on hold. Abortion wasn’t an option, I assume?

Sub: My mom was raised catholic. To her, it was never an option.

Dir. A: I see. So, did this lead to any issues down the line, in terms of your relationship with her?

Sub: Would you count depression, lethargy and heavy intake of booze as “issues”?

Dir. A: Yes, those would certainly count. I suppose that all resulted in the incident that caused your parents to divorce.

Sub: What do you get when you cross a resentful mother, her mistake of a son, a bottle of Jack and a glass coffee table? Answer: A few severed vocal cords and a trip to the E.R, followed by a court case.

Dir. A: Not exactly funny.

Sub: No....it’s not...Are we done here?

Dir. A: I suppose we can talk more at a later date. Thank you for your time, Tommy.

Sub: Sure. It’s not like I have anyone else to talk to.
