Happy Birthday!!! 🎉💖🎂💖🎉
☆d(^♡^)/\(`♡`)b☆
Thank you!!
I'm sad for Gumshoe but on the bright side he's the type of person to be really happy he got 350 votes regardless
He’s just happy to be included.
Hi! I love your blog and art and was wondering if you could help me, my sister wants a tiara but she loves having super short hair (like 1.5in long). It can't really nestle into the hair or catch onto the sides which are even shorter. Is there a particular crown style that would work better?
Alice bands, for sure!
You can even run a bead of hot glue on the underside to give it a little more grip~ ^^
Happy Birthday!!
Thanks! 💗
Your art is beautiful (^♡^)
haha thank you very much!
d011qu33n replied to your post: i had a meteor shower last night in AC and...
Wait how do you get more than 20 fragments?
uhhh it’s possible that i counted wrong...i followed my shoreline until i had picked up all the fragments i could find, went into a building, then combed the beach again, and repeated that until i seemed to have gotten them all...
THE POINT IS that there were a lot (about as much as i got the one time Isabelle actually announced a meteor shower and i was actually able to prepare for it, which leads me to believe that was a meteor shower...she just didn’t tell me about it the second time :\)
Do you have any tips on temperature especially how to avoid burning different kinds of tea? Like i have a chart and an electric kettle but i still mess up somehow?
The best way will always be a thermometer, I have a kettle with a built-in analog thermometer that I got cheap at my local Kmart years ago (and a friend of mine has one with a built-in electric thermometer that can heat the water to exact temperatures... but those are very expensive)
At the tea shop I worked at we used one similar to this to check the water temp before adding the tea leaves (I’ll always err on the side of lower, so if it reads ~85°C I will wait, but if it’s 75 °C that’s acceptable):
They’re pretty cheap and easy to get and I have a similar one myself. I’ve also used a meat thermometer before (which looks pretty similar tbh, and is functionally identical).
But if you don’t have a thermometer you can get a good estimate if you pour a quarter cold water in your cup/pot and then add three quarters boiling water, the resulting temperature should be quite close to 80°C. Make sure you only add the tea leaves after combining both the hot and cold water!
And if in doubt always go for a lower temperature/add more cold water and slowly work your way up with subsequent brews to test where the limit is in whatever pot/mug/cup you usually brew in, since the individual size and shape of those can affect the temperature in several ways.
It might take a bit longer to brew if too cold, and it will get cold faster at lower temps when guesstimating (it’s a good idea to have something cover the top if you’re brewing in a mug, to help retain the heat with lower temperature brews. I’ll often just put a small plate over the top or a Tupperware lid or whatever’s closest, if I’m not using a pot or a proper tea mug with a lid).
And if the temperature is too low it can end up with a sort of... grassy taste (which might be what you expect to an extent in certain green teas anyway, like sencha) and it’ll be a bit washed out and watered down and like, well, warm leaf juice... but that still beats the overwhelming taste of tannins you end up with otherwise at higher temps when you scald the tea. Of course, a lot of green teas also get very bitter once they go cold (some exceptions to that are Dragons Well and sencha, which is why they can also make nice iced teas), so if you do go too far towards cold then it will also get bitter quicker as well when it cools. So without a thermometer, it can be a bit of a balancing act!
But with a bit of practice, I’m sure you’ll get it!
