puttering around the house is an underrated form a self-care. make some tea or coffee. put on a podcast. sort the mail. tidy some pillows and fold some blankets. start the laundry. thaw some soup. just casually wander around aimlessly doing little things to make your space and life a little nicer. who cares if you get distracted or only do a little. you aren't being productive. you're puttering.

It's the only way I get anything done.

Today I puttered around the kitchen; I reorganized a higher up shelf, and found some things that we don't need anymore. (Yay more shelf room!)

I put some things in the dishwasher (including the cat fountain), went "Mmmyeah, that's probably full enough to run," and ran it.

The last time I was puttering around, I had found the filters for the cat fountain, which is why *this* time I decided to wash the cat fountain and put a new filter in it.

I made myself some tea. (Shout-out to @tiarasnteakettles for the lovely tea!)

I toasted some Naan.

I washed some hand-wash only items that had been hanging around in the washtub.

The only other time I can get myself to care for my space is during a panic-cleaning before guests come over. Puttering is good! Putter around until you're tired of it and go do something else.
