this was the most i think ive ever written for an event, the prompts were so much fun and it was a blast writing!!!

Olethra presses the heels of her palms in her eyes, desperate not to cry, to pull herself together for a moment and go back to sleep, but flashes of her nightmare keep returning, the red splattered across the deck, the glassy eyed stares of her family staring up at her and she can’t stay.

you're the only friend i need- jet & ruby

“Go away!” Jet says from her position under her bed. She knows it’s Ruby at the door, knows that they share a room and someone will have to let her in eventually, but she doesn’t want to.

Kristen didn’t mean for it to happen. Really, she didn’t. But things never seemed to go her way, especially when it came to Tracker.

the creature still moving (that slowed in your arms)- rosamund & destiny's children

Rosamund’s first memory is of warmth, blurry shapes that she later realizes are her parents standing over her, spinning a mobile as she watches in awe.

if i fade away (let me fade away)- quinn & hugi

Quinn (after persuading Rubby) took the passenger seat next to Hugi. They don’t seem to notice, going through their mental checklist as the Carer Van gets ready to leave.

the divine retribution- straka & ludmila

I see the girl, in the future, she’s shining, metallic and smudged. I obey her, and so I must save her.

god i have my fathers eyes (but my sisters when i cry)- cody/pete

It was lonely, more often than not. Cody didn’t make friends easily, something his parents always said was due to his overexcitable personality. Still, it was easier for him. Before he realized that there was something wrong with him. Wrong was something that his friends would argue against. Well, Pete would argue. Cody wasn’t sure if anyone else would.

but there's a part of me that recognizes you (do you feel it too?)- rocks family

Ruby moves closer to her twin the further up the mountain they hike. Jet shivers, passing a grin back at Ruby. Telepathy doesn’t exist, however Ruby was pretty sure her and Jet were connected psychically, at least a little. Enough to both regret not wearing warmer clothes at the very least.

(and some part of me came alive) the first time that you called me baby- leiland/markus

It’s been only a few days since Markus went off, to do whatever pirates do, and Leiland, against his better judgements, was wide awake, as he’s been since Markus left.

i wouldn't know where to start- lucy & adaine

Lucy almost regrets agreeing to meet Adaine at her house. Granted, she didn’t realize it would require her to essentially hike up a hill, and since her grandma’s old car had long since broken down, she had to walk.

you love love love when you know i can't love you- kipperlilly/lucy

Lucy was always aware she was different. Her gangly limbs and the faded pigment on her face set her apart long before she met Kipperlilly. Kip never made her feel different, though. She was just Kipperlilly’s best friend, and Lucy was content to have her forever like that.

clandestine meetings & longing stares- theobald/lapin

Theobald knew he shouldn’t trust the twins. They were mischievous little scamps and were hellbent on escaping their lessons through any means necessary. (To the amusement of the king and the disapproval of the queen.)

Hunch was missing date night. Scratch that, Hunch was lying about why he had to miss date night.

“Yes, yes, Kristen, it’s a surprise party for your girlfriend, we get it.” Fabian teases, leaning against a wall next to Adaine, who mage hands another streamer up. “Ex! Ex girlfriend!” Kristen protests, her cheeks flushing.

There was a pit of loneliness in her stomach. It’s always been there, even before the Nightmare King, when she was still wholly herself. They couldn’t talk about it, not to their familiar, their followers, and as time passed and their name was removed from all records, there was comfort in knowing that they didn’t have to pretend that they weren’t angry with the world for how it treated her love.

If not for her weakling of a brother and pushover of a mother, she could be Queen right now. She could have the control she so rightfully deserved, but no. Suntar sneered at the ground, like it personally affronted her, and looked around.

Hello and welcome to D20 Battle of the Bingos! In this event you have one of three options. If you’re interested of the battle aspect, joining a team and competing to see who can get the most points, please go to the BATTLE section. If you’re interested in just the bingo aspect, please skip right to the JUST THE BINGO section. If you plan on reading, rather than writing, go to the READER section.

BATTLE:

The competition aspect of this event is comprised of multiple steps. The steps are as follows:

Complete the Interest Form (link found here) and select the [Yes, Battle] option

Join the Discord (link found here)

Join one of the two competition teams when they go live (in the Discord)

Fill out the Prompt Form when it goes live so your bingo board prompts align with your interests

Receive your bingo board when the event goes live (in the Discord)

Write your fics according to your bingo board

Submit the Points Form each time you post a fic that fulfills one of your prompts

JUST THE BINGO:

If you like the bingo aspect but not the competition aspect you can still participate! The steps are as follows:

Complete the Interest Form (link found here) and select the [Yes, Just The Bingo] option

Join the Discord (link found here)

Join the third team when they go live (in the Discord). There’s no competition aspect for this team, and points are measured collectively for the entire event statistics.

Fill out the Prompt Form when it goes live so your bingo board prompts align with your interests

Receive your bingo board when the event goes live (in the Discord)

Write your fics according to your bingo board

Submit the Points Form each time you post a fic that fulfills one of your prompts

🚨 Sign Ups for the D20 Bingo Battle Close on February 3rd 🚨

If you're just finding us now, the D20 Bingo Battle is a fanfic event that running for the first time in February 2026! It's a month long, and both writers and readers have a chance to earn points for their team. The teams are:

BARON vs. KALINA vs. CHUNGLEDOWN BIM

Baron and Kalina are battle teams, their points will be tallied and members racing each other to read and write, while Chungledown Bim is for people that don't want to focus on the competition aspect and just want to have some fun with D20 fic.

Follow the link below to the event server, where you'll get to meet your fellow battlers, and check out all the fun things planned for this event, including bonus prompts for extra points, vanity roles, and maybe even more!

If you want to join as a writer, you'll fill out the form to pick a team and let us know what kind of prompts you want on your bingo card. Sign ups close on February 3rd, and cards will be sent out starting February 1st. We also have campaign specific pre-made cards for people who only want to write one setting, and if you finish over a certain number of prompts on your card you're welcome to get a new one anytime :)

If you want to join as a commenter, you fill out the form to pick a team, choose the commenter option when it asks you how you would like to participate, and start commenting on event fics as they roll in.
