One of the effects that I’m thinking of adding into my video, it also talks about how to do the wiggly text with footage which is GR8
I’ve been watching a large amount of tutorials, but this is one that was immensely helpful and it is an effect that I will definitely be using for this final video!
Type Specimen Project Overview
Overall, I am fairly content with how this project turned out. All of the aspects of my video that I am unhappy with can be easily fixed but I was unable to do so due to time constraints.
1. I had some timing issues with some of the text popping up too fast as well as not being as much on beat with the song as I’d like it do be.
2. Similarly, there are some elements that I would simply like to take some time to fine tune. The flying blob took a lot of work to get to where it is, but now that I know how to animate it I would like to go back and make those movements smoother.
3. Additionally, some of my transitions happen too slowly and leave less time to read the text so I would like to speed some of those up.
4. Last, but not least, I’d like to take out some of the swinging text. In particular I’d like the description about Martin Majoor towards the beginning of my video to slide in from the side rather than swing down.
I learned a lot about After Effects and time management whilst working on this project, and I had a lot of fun putting it all together. My main takeaway for would have to be to remind myself to simply take a deep breath and step away from the computer and reflect on what I’m doing. This way, it would be easier to see obvious errors that that are just not visible when you’re so close to your project all the time.
