[There was a flash of green light, and the sound of wings fluttering, before a pair of wings and a pair of arms wrapped around Derek. There was a box of donuts on a nearby table that hadn't been there before.]

"Hii! I'm back!"

[To be honest he wasn't expecting a hug the moment he appeared, so he was a bit startled but still responds to both hug and words.]

"Yes, you are. I see donuts."

[He reaches for the box. It's been a good while since he last had donuts]

Derek, dearest Derek. (Does the panic seep through thy veins? What didst thou plan with this?) Dost thou now play the fool? Willst thou run forever? (Surely not, surely not…)

[Derek looks for the source of the voice] Who are you?

["One of my heralds, I see. Not mine, per say, but under a King."]

[Derek raises his hands, showing no will to fight.]

"Put the bag down," [said one guard, gesturing to the wrapped blanket he made a bag. He knew that would be the words, even mimicking with his mouth in a way they couldn't see. He knew he can't get out of this.]

[He puts the blanket down.] "Open it." [Were the next words. He knew them, again. And complied.]

[He opened it, showcasing the notebook and plushies, using his hands to spread them across the fabric. The guard seemed satisfied after making sure he had no weapons...]

[But failed to notice how he grabbed something from the pile of items: a feather. He held it tightly in his hand, a cry for help. He should have done that since the beginning... but he was too blinded by his pride and worries of being a burden, he failed to do so. But now he let go of that.]

"I'm sorry... I guess this is a fault of mine. I always leave it to last minute."

"Avery, please come..."

Let's say you could do something for me. For example, kill the thing inside my head without killing me in the process. What would be the price? That is only a hypothetical scenario.

[It was protocol to blindfold any subject and carry them on a wheelchair before taking them outside. In Derek's case, it was more of a formality: he already knew the layout of the building. Not like the DMS knew that, he made sure it was his little secret.]

[Outside, there was no need for the fold, and he could actually stretch and walk on grass. Sure, the ankle tracker wasn't comfortable, but small mercies. He walked to a far back tree, near a wall of flowers. It was mostly a blindspot, one learned from observing an employee going there to smoke some weed when it was clearly prohibited.]

[The person was fired, so not much movement on the area. It was quite nice, and far enough to give some peace from the constant observation.]

[He brought his sewing kit with him, gifted from one of those magic anons. Inside was a handmade envelope and the feather, which he gently squeezed per instruction to call The Jade Mon- Avery. To call Avery.]
