The 12 Gods of Divinity
Sorry for the lack of updates, school and all that, but I’ve been spending some time developing the background lore of the world. It’s very Greek mythology based, so if you see some parallels, yes, I ripped it right out of Hesiod’s Theogony.
Here is my beginning line-up of the first few gods and how I want them to look. In Divinity, the story goes that the First, the Maw, the Father, the Origin pulled himself apart and gave each of his body parts a law to govern over.
From his heart, he crafted Lorelai the Weaver, law of love and illusion.
From his feet, he made Emmett the Gatekeeper, law of endings and death.
From his lips, he created Ivalenne, Voice of the Damned, law of language and communication.
From his hands, he made Cerberus, Hound of Fate, law of creation and choice.
From his eyes, he made Chronos the Architect, law of existence and beginnings.
From his brain, he made Dax, Lord of Memories, law of celebration and inspiration.
From his crown (head), he crafted Heaven the Bound, law of justice and authority.
Each god governs over these laws, accompanied by an element and they are what give power to the mortals who wield divinities. They all have backstories that I’m cobbling together, so I’ll probably write those soon for fun. Who doesn’t like a good ol’ fashioned fable of gods.
