so i dont have the source on this but the word on the street is that one of gaider’s original ideas for joplin to derail solas’ veil plan was to have a romanced lavellan either almost die or straight up die, but that idea was scrapped after gaider took his ps4 from bioware and went home
and like, the consensus from solavellans is that that wouldnt have done it, it wouldve just made him act somehow more deranged about it than he was already doing
and like. honestly? no i dont think so. because solas is such a sad tattered wet little sponge of a man. the soggy scrub daddy you perpetually leave in the sink. he impulse blew up the sky because 8 people ganked his ex girlfriend who he didnt even like anymore. like my read of him has always been that hes someones simpering boyfriend first and a person that believes in anything at all second
so like, if his VHENAN almost fucking DIES trying to STOP his plan? i genuinely think he would be at their side until they recovered and then the next time the player sees him he is wearing a shirt that says I ❤️ THE VEIL THE VEIL FOREVER THE VEILGUARD I LOVE MY VEIL #MYVEIL
and if lavellan died i think he'd steal their body give them a reverent but deeply mentally unwell manner of burial and then return wearing their undershirt wrapped around his neck and covered in dirt to save the veil before probably tranquilizing himself at the end of the game
like from purely a solasmance perspective i genuinely think this is how it wouldve gone
