hey! its another thing! that i wrote!
Inner Circle Mages x Reader who is overwhelmed with work
dragon age inquisition’s inner circle mage’s methods of helping if they found out you were overwhelmed with too much work! also!!! i meant these pretty platonically, but if you wanna read them ~ romantically ~ i won’t stop you ;)
Vivienne tuts softly at you, "my dear, if you keep working like this, you'll burn yourself out."
If her gentle reminders don't work, she'll try to assist you in very subtle ways: a fresh glass of water every now and then, or snacks dropped on your desk when people walk by.
If you need to rant to her, she's perfectly happy to listen, but, be warned, she will help you come up with solutions for everything.
Vivienne is much more the type to reward you after you've finished your work than to cheer you on during it (only because she wants you to have some peace and quiet to actually get it done). Maybe she'll take you to the spa, or you'll go out for tea. Something fancy and relaxing.
Dorian understands feeling overwhelmed with work. He - though, of course, it was rare - occasionally suffered from the feeling while working under Alexius. He'll offer you quiet company, and not much more.
He'll take a stack of books from the library, and he'll plop down on whatever cushiony surface is both near you and out of your way, and he'll read. Sometimes you'll hear him gasp or remark to the characters, and you can't tell if it's genuine or if he's just reminding you he's there.
If he's in the middle of a good part when you've finished your work, then you can say goodbye to the drink he probably promised you because there is no way that he's leaving it on a cliffhanger
Solas asks you how you got behind - ensuring you learn from your mistakes so history will not repeat. He offers to do research alongside you, but he’s silent apart from pages turning or the sound of writing. If you attempt to converse with him, it probably won’t work too well (you’ll get a lot of short, uninteresting answers) - but he does understand that sometimes breaks are needed, so if you say you want to go grab a drink, he’s likely to join you, even if it’s only to make sure you get back to work after
