“It is good to be back here.” The familiar castle halls and grounds made Emmett feel at home, even though he’d been absent from court for months. He’d been asked to leave for a period of time before the last King and Queen had passed, and he’d only just heard about their deaths. As tragic as those happenings were, Emmett couldn’t pretend that he wasn’t glad to be able to return. “Catch me up on everything that I’ve missed! Aside from the big news, I haven’t heard any gossip at all.”

“You,” Roman pointed, clearly agitated. He stomped toward the other person, his jaw set. “Someone took my favorite knife. I need your help to find it. It was a gift. I swear, if someone is running around trying to sell it for a high price, I’ll pack my bags and leave this blasted country tonight.”

rik stood on the top of a hill near the stables, not wanting to go back to the bustle and drudgery of the castle just yet. everybody looked at him like he was evil or an idiot. he’d rather be home. he’d rather be anywhere. someone’s horse trotted up next to his and he sighed before turning to them. “there’s a reason i come out here alone, you know.”

“Arlo! Where are you? Here, puppy!” Sylvia was distraught as she searched through the gardens, her little dog had wandered off while she was talking to someone, and she wasn’t sure where he had gone. “Heel, boy!” She called, searching around bushes, holding up her skirts so she could rush through the gardens. “Has anyone seen a little lost puppy? He can’t have gone far...”

“Oh - sorry, I didn’t expect anyone to be here this early in the morning.” Early that morning, Jas rode down to the shoreline to check on the naval ships stationed in the bay. Everything seemed to be in order, but after the the feast, he felt the need to check. The sun had barely risen when he arrived back at the stables. “Is something wrong?”

Chopping up ingredients for a pain remedy was not a very difficult task, but Bea was finding that it became much more so with a very grumpy tabby circling her legs and whining loudly.  “I know you don’t like the smell, but I’ve got to get this done, Basil.  I don’t know what you want me to do about it.”  The words were fond, despite the accompanying eye-roll, however, and she put down the knife for a moment, bending down to pick up her cat instead.  “Come on.”  If he was unhappy being inside, perhaps the outside would do him a bit of good.  She opened the door, releasing the cat -- right onto another person.  “Oh no -- I’m so sorry!”

Aurora decided to spend her free afternoon venturing outside of the palace, though she always made sure she remained within castle walls. The Summer’s End Banquet had left a sour taste on her tongue and she hoped a bit of fresh Oscana air and sunshine could aid in alleviating that. Lady Aurora was feeling a bit bold as she climbed up a tree, standing on a low hanging branch. She often missed the Swamplands and how it was basically an enormous play area for her and her siblings.

The crunch of leaves and twigs from beneath her snapped her out of her daydream and she cast her gaze downwards. “Oh, my! I apologize dearly; It appears you’ve stumbled upon me in quite the unladylike state,” she giggled as she leaned against the tree trunk. “What brings you out here? My perception must be failing me; I could have sworn i was out here alone.”

In Rosamund’s own personal opinion, there was nowhere lovelier in all of Oscana than the palace gardens.  A walk through the gardens could make any day better, she thought.  Or at least, she would have thought that, if not for a very pesky bee that kept buzzing around the flower in her hair, instead of the flowers on the ground.  “Go away, bee,” she huffed, unsuccessfully waving it away.  “This one isn’t for you.”  Apparently the bee didn’t like that, though, because no sooner had the words left her lips than she felt a sharp sting on her hand.  “Hey!”
