Would Daareios be interested in having a pet? If so what kind of pet would he want?

He'd have a chonky Unopan Feline! As seen here in this absolutely beautiful illustration by @d0rksausalito💜 This is the 'good ending' where Daareios lives through the canon events of the comic, distances himself from Thragg, and finds someone who can truly understand him and appreciate him for who he is. He ends up living on Talescria with Gorr, a Thraxan-Viltrumite hybrid that was previously one of the soldiers under Daareios' command (Gorr belongs to @d0rksausalito). They mean a lot to me 🥺💜💜

What does Daareios and Gorr like about each other?

A lot of things! I can answer for Daar. A lot of yapping below.

Before they got close in any meaningful way, Daareios considered Gorr one of his best soldiers. Even if Gorr was meek and not as strong as some of his other siblings, he was still among the elite/high guard, and he also had a sharp tactical mind. Daareios held Gorr in high regard when it came to his overall capabilities as a warrior.

After the war, and after they started interacting with each other without the burden of rank and a need to only ever speak to one another in a strictly professional setting, Daareios realized that he enjoyed spending time with Gorr, and that he was looking forward to seeing him every day.

This did not happen immediately - unfortunately, Daareios was quite hostile to Gorr after the war. Gorr stopped him from attacking Mark and chasing after him and Thragg when they flew into the Sun - he absolutely saved Daareios' life by doing this, but it took Daar some time to reconcile with it. For a while, he blamed Gorr for skewing the outcome of the fight, believing that if he were there to assist Thragg, they could have killed Mark Grayson together.

Daareios would eventually realize that Gorr meant well, and that he doesn't gain anything by lashing out at him all the time. He apologizes and rekindles the brittle friendship that he and Gorr had before.

From then on, Daareios would slowly but steadily grow very attached to him. The focus of his inherent loyalty, his need to serve and protect a figure that he holds in high regard, would shift from Thragg to Gorr.

Daar would love Gorr's endless curiosity, his need to learn and read about anything and everything. He'd love his enthusiasm when talking about his interests. He'd love sparring with him, training together like they did before everything irrevocably changed. He'd love traveling with him, on Earth or on Talescria or any other planet, discovering new lands and species and cultures.

He would have some very mixed, intense feelings about how similar Gorr's facial features are to Thragg's. He'd find him beautiful, of course - but for a long time, he'd be reminded of his past attachment to the Grand Regent whenever he looked into Gorr's eyes.

He'd love how patient and understanding Gorr is, and how kindly he treats him. I can't stress enough just how shattered Daareios would be after finally realizing that he genuinely matters to someone for the first time in his long, weary life. He'd need a lot of time and reassurance to come to terms with it (it's something he always wanted, but it's so overwhelming), and he'd want to return any affection Gorr gives him tenfold.

Lastly - I have to mention that they are very sexually compatible. Neither of them had any experience with intimacy before getting together, and they had to learn everything step by step, on their own pace. Being so intensely vulnerable in front of each other was completely new to them both and only served to make their bond stronger.

What’s Daareios and Gorr’s ideal date?

A night out somewhere on Talescria. They generally prefer quiet dates - going to a small, cozy café tucked away in some forgotten alley, or spending hours in a library or a museum, or taking their time browsing new novels at their local bookstore.

(Gorr loves reading, and it's how he and Daareios initially bond - by reading stories about Earth together. Gorr would eventually influence Daareios enough that he'd become a bookworm as well.)

Gorr also likes insects. He'd no doubt drag Daareios along on his many ventures into Talescria's (or Earth's) forests to look for some interesting new specimens. Ignore the fact that Gorr also likes snacking on bugs.

Daareios would sometimes take Gorr to concerts or music festivals, though he'd generally prefer to stay in their apartment and work on his own songs as Gorr listens and gives his opinions.

He'd also love to just fly around with Gorr - anywhere, on any planet. Discovering the lands below, chasing each other in the sky, maybe with a little bit of play-fighting that turns into flirting very quickly. 💜
