honestly if druck is trying to ~educate~ ppl on trans issues and realistically portray the shit we go through, why couldnt we get david telling matteo about being outed (like what he went through in this episode for all i care) at his old school. it couldve been a heartfelt talk that shows david opening up to matteo about his past, privately, because he trusts him.
why does he have to go through some bullshit in the present, just for drama? why couldnt the current drama have been david being reasonably pissed at matteo for talking about him being trans to people david didnt approve beforehand, or whatever? why cant they tell the outing story as something terrible in the past and now focus on the present where david has the choice and the agency to come out to people when HE wants? and have this story teach matteo (instead of having hans do it) that this is not information to freely share with people david hasnt approved?

what are you even saying? those posts legitimately read like you think trans people need to let their entire social environment know. the whole ass grade? the video went out into the graduating class group chat. at a school with about 1,200 students thats a lot of people graduating and its absolutely mortifying to think about that many people finding out all at once. those malicious reactions from the clip are another thing i dont even want to get into. realism? really??
any trans person has the right to disclose their history or keep it to themselves if they dont want to share. thats not a matter of opening up and being themselves. david clearly wants to be stealth and just do his thing and not have people know. i relate to that and i am pretty much at that point where being trans is just not much of an issue anymore. it used to consume a lot of space in my mind, just constantly THERE bothering and distracting me from things id much rather think about. nowadays once every few days or so i remember and between that i just dont need to think about it. its so freeing. i understand why people want this.
i dont go around telling people unless i really want to because theres no reason for them to know. that is not a matter of not “dealing with it head on” (which presumably appears to aforementioned hot take writers to be Healthy and Good and an opportunity to grow and start thriving), its just my choice. ive dealt with it head on for long enough, i dont think theres anything wrong with keeping it to myself for the most part now. no one NEEDS to know this intensely personal thing about me. i dont NEED to tell anyone if its just going to cause more stress in my life.
tl;dr i really hate that druck is doing this to a trans character for basically no reason and i hate seeing people defend it saying its actually super duper good for david.
